While reading “Along New Tides: a Ponies After People Story; Chapter 25: The Port of Copenhagen” I realized that international embassies are untapped resources for our stories. Who knows what equipment, weapons, or information could be found inside those international embassies. With armored limousines with satellite phones, to the best encrypted, diplomatic communication systems; spy equipment, to secure rooms for our characters to salvage. If you can imagine other resources that are within those international embassies, please post your cool ideas here.

Something I can think of with embassies is the story potential of returnees coming from these embassies.

You could wind up with something like a group of marine security guards attempting to escort a diplomat all the way around the world back to the US from say, Kazakhstan. Hell of a road trip for an adventure story.

Or, depending on when they may return, conflict stories with the realisation they are not legitimate anymore and that the government they represent doesn't exist in this era. Imagine a group of guards cling to the notion that their nation may still exist and try to guard their embassy from groups of survivors lured in by the prospect of high tech gear and salvage. Conflicts of interest with local factions may also arise.

The Russian embassy in DC now. I could think of one particularly petty returnee from the embassy actually hanging a Russian flag on top of any monument in DC, only to be found by the local survivors. Could be played for laughs...
