How do stories get on the "featured" list?

Combination of factors, but it's all about the stats. Most of the features are fics that recently got really hot in stats (so usually they're more recent fics in general), but like the 3 bottom ones are usually fics with just good stats in general, usually older ones. My fic was up for over 2 years before it got featured twice now the last two times I updated it, just cause it got hot at the right time and the stats finally got good enough.
