Main reason for grade: Forced, cute but remains dry with poor execution.

Grammar was impeccable which counted for a majority of the grade. The story was cute, but the purpose was weak and the story was very dry and forced. It tried too much just to be cute.

I regret not being able to let the story in but it was not quite up to standards.

You are your own worst critic. Remember this so that you never discourage yourself. The story wasn't "bad" it was just simple. It was cute and very good at creating "Dawws" but it simply didn't have any greater meaning. I can see why people enjoy it, it's just not a really great fit for the archive.
