All rejected fics up to The Heart of Worlds have been removed from the group as per standard etc etc. If you weren't aware, this is what we do.

Every long while, we're going to clean out the rejected fics. Here's some reasoning so people don't panic.

- It leaves that fic in the group. This might not seem like a big deal, but unless it's changed, people will look at the story's page and say, "Wow, it's in the Canterlot Archives, so it must be pretty good!" from then on. Sometimes people will look and realize it's a rejected fic, but other times they'll just happily assume we accepted it. This is also the reason we leave it in there for a while in the first place - so that people can see the group, click on it, and browse other fics (including the rejected ones. Being rejected in the Archives is not a denial of quality, just a denial of a certain quality standard we have set. Fics can still be good and get denied here).

- It's kind of rude. This is more opinion than anything, but no author /really/ wants his fic to sit in a rejected list forever, right? Sure, we have the above reason for why we briefly keep it there, but indefinitely? That would be dishonest and rude of us, simple as that.

- Some other third thing. Insert good reason here. Think of the magic paper thingy the Doctor uses.

If you have any complaints/suggestions about this method, please post them here.

3362719 Let's say the author forgot, whether he placed a story here or not. You also forgot. You go check on rejected fics folder and it's not there (because the folder has been purged). How do you know whether a fic has been processed yet or not?

3362863 The rejected fic list thread. Though I do see your point. I'll have to discuss making an official barred-reentry list or something with the others. Thanks for the tip.
