Prior to Season 8 coming along and introducing the School of Friendship, were there any episodes before the season where a character states that Friendship isn’t something that could ever be taught in schools?
If so, then which episode? Which character? And what was the exact quote?

My only source here is the YMMV page for School Daze Part 1, but apparently no such thing was said by any of the characters in the first seven seasons of FIM.

I'm 99% sure Celestia said something to that effect to Twilight very early in the show, possibly in the premier, but I don't have time to dig it up.
