In MLP:FiM, when being levitated by a unicorn, an object appears to have a light emitting field that stretches out from the object exactly 2.7990872190972 cm and emits specific wavelengths of light depending on what unicorn is levitating it.
In MLP:TYT, Izzy's levitation is rainbow coloured with less uniform rays. One side of the object has red light and the other side has blue light, with green light on the corners.
Would these light patterns be more realistic? The uniform coloured light-emitting fields of MLP:FiM are odd, but would red light on one side of the object and blue light on the other side be any more realistic? Is the magic field refracting light here instead of emitting it? Can light even refract like that?

7684592 I always considered light to be merely a symptom of the effect.

Talking about light in levitation is like measuring moisture under a nuclear explosion.

Reminds me of the chromatic aberration that occurs when light is refracted through a sufficiently thick lens. So magic could be altering the refractive index of the air it's infusing?
