Clarke's Third Law states that any advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. If applied in MLP:FiM, does that mean magic is technology of a kind or an offshoot? Is that's true, could friendship, the thing which the show's magic is based on, be technology of a kind?

3344229 If X (technology) can be considered as a subset of Y (magic) it does not necessarily mean, that Y (magic) is also a subset or equal to X (technology).

But then again, you may be right. Unicorns study magic, so it could be considered as a branch of science. According to the definition of technology:

1. The practical application of science to commerce or industry
2. The discipline dealing with the art or science of applying scientific knowledge to practical problems

it would mean, that magic is indeed a form of technology.

Pegasus magic has a more industrial technology feel to it, due to the weather factory... but still based on magic... or on 'sufficiently advanced technology' as the two are indistinguishable... but 'magic' sounds better.
