Just how is Fleur de Lis portrayed in Fan fiction? Aside from a blink and you miss it cameo in Sweet and Elite, we know zero about her. Is she just one of those ponies that you just kind of add your own persona to her?

563421 The fun thing about Fleur is that we don't know much about her, and that means that really any portrayal that accepts that she is (or, in some cases, was) a high class pony from Canterlot works, and, as such, there is no consistent portrayal of her. I've seen her as part of an arranged crime to frame spitfire (that went down a silly route), a high class call girl (clop, while i was looking for stories for her. Not linking here), a philanthropist (don't have the link), an ambassador, a dancer, and (in the story where I'm just waiting on permission to use an image of her and Fluttershy), a slighted lover and former trophy wife.

Personality also varies, from utter bitch (the least like her brief appeareance) to very nice mare, and everything in between.

Really, though, I do want to see more of the unicorn with the fleur de lis cutie mark on the show, so we can establish a personality for her. There's a lot of potential for an interesting character there

That's the thing, right now we don't know alot about her, much like Spitfire was a blank slate until Wonderbolt's Academy. She went from almost a mary sue to a character with persona, who most of the fans accepted. Way I'm writing her is as a High class pony who befriended Rarity after the events of Sweet and Elite. Of course she's french and speaks with a french accept. I just don't have it in me to make her mean.

564029 I'm writing her the same way, though I'm giving her a bad case of hoof in mouth disease, because she's talking to Fluttershy a lot, because she's taking a liking to the pegasus, but, not being used to like an a town like Ponyville, she keeps saying things that offend Fluttershy (the biggest would be calling her animals monsters).

Okay, so here's my qualm: I want my OC to fall for Fleur, but not sure where to go from there. I know she's Fancy Pants' marefriend, but I want to somehow take him out of the equation (no death, don't worry). Maybe he cheats on her with Rarity, due to her connection to Princess Celestia? It's been nagging at me for days, and just want to get some constructive feedback. Also, not sure how many fans/readers this would piss off, but I really don't care much about that. I had him essentially "cheat" on Fleur with a (richer and prettier) mare from Trottingham (no context, just alluded to it in dialogue). I must have done a good job with it, because the ratings for my story are doing pretty good.

I've always seen her as a professional escort. The kind of pony who you would take with you to some very end social events if you have nopony else to go with. Beautiful, smart, and able to keep you company and make you look good (and if you really want to, provide some of the more... Lewd services a mare can give).

Fancy Pants always came across as the pony Fleur did a lot of escorting for. But it never went beyond that.
