1. Check the listings! Don't always expect people to come to you. Put yourself out there if someone seems to be calling to you in their post!

2. Google docs is highly recommended. It's much less clunky than the PM system and it makes it easier to stay in touch if you have a lot of followers or people you talk to.

3. Ask for help, but don't forget to give it back. Don't be that guy that takes ideas but doesn't put anything on the table. Not only does your brain lose exercise, it kind of defeats the purpose.
