Just some quick guidelines for adding stories, included for completeness given the creation of the new Sad Celestia group. The folders here are arranged in order of increasing perceived sadness level. How one perceives emotions is subjective of course, but please try to do your best when assigning a given story to a folder. Here are the vague rules:

-Full: For stories with minor sad themes and happy endings.
-Gibbous: Moderately sad themes with no guarantee of a happy ending.
-Quarter: Cannot have a happy ending. Leaves the reader feeling hollow.
-Crescent: Tragic endings, may begin with canon but ends in misery.
-New: Makes the reader cry. Nothing positive occurs in the story.
-Eclipsed: Makes the reader suffer for an indefinite period of time, mourning for Luna. Reserved for the saddest Luna stories posted to the site, must be more emotionally effective than Lunacy by NTSTS, and approved by the admin. This folder is locked - contact the admin if you've found a candidate.

One thing to remember: sad stories of quality are effective in both form and content. For example, having Luna be rejected by the ponies of Equestria and send herself back to the moon is sad, but if the story that tells of this predicament is not engaging due to poor communication, the reader will not be moved appropriately. In other words, please consider whether a sad story actually elicits the intended emotion before assigning to a folder.

Thank you for joining, and please consider visiting the sister group, Sad Celestia, where these guidelines are mirrored due to symmetry.
