Righto.

Due to a number of pm's regarding HIE's less-than-stellar rules causing some confusion, and numerous pm's complaining about a surge of problem threads, it's time for the rules to be updated. So, the following:

General Rules
1. No impersonating administration. Not really needed now thanks to the black bars of baronhood(tm).

2. Asking for suggestions or sharing story ideas is fine, but we aren't an editing group. In addition, if you must share a 'story idea', provide more than 'Hey, if all of the members for, omg, One Punch and Naruto (Best. Shows. Eva!) wound up in Equestria, how funny and amazing would it be, amirite!!!!!!????Sweat-drooplol!!!!!????' Threads that are obviously just there to show your love for a popular show or whatever have a high chance of being locked.

3. Debates are allowed, personal attacks are not unless in poetic verse at all.

4. Do not post NSFW content. Kind of a given, really.

5. "For fun" threads are allowed, but threads that clearly belong somewhere else may be removed. In addition, 'for fun' threads that are a repeat of the last ten 'for fun' threads will also be removed.

6. If you are looking for a story, either by name or by concept, post in the 'Looking for story' thread. Link here. However, if you are asking for fic recommendations that is still okay within reason (I.E, check the earlier forum posts to make sure your question hasn't already been answered, as threads with recommended fics are quite common.

Since people seem to have trouble with this concept, threads that are 'looking for story' in nature will be locked and you will receive a warning\ban based on the concept in the next point.

This group will now operate on a 'three-strike' system. In order:

1. First offence - A warning. This will be in the form of a PM discribing the specific infraction and suggestions on how to rectify the offending behavior.

2. Second Offence- A temp ban. This can be anything from a one-day ban up to a week. Bans will be recorded in a thread located in the HIE admins group.

3. Third Offence - Perma ban, unless you either have a really good reason or are a really good smooth-talker.

Keep in mind, in serious cases Admins may jump straight to either point 2 or 3 depending. This behaviour includes posting NSFW pictures/media, for example.

In closing, keep in mind that the admins are generally relaxed and will let most minor things slid with a lock or slight slap on the wrist. However, keep in mind that if you are a serial poster of threads that break the rules, it is often your fellow users that seek the attention of the mods to do something. Thus is the 'unofficial rule' of HIE as follows:

If the thread you are about to post has been done ten-thousand times before or is the same as the last few threads you have posted, reconsider posting that thread. If you are wanting to post a thread, at first consider how the group will likely react to the thread before posting.

I will be making a thread for the rules discussion shortly and will leave it open for 24 hours. This rules thread will be locked and pinned.
