Only stories I can think of are Cleary (Not) a King and Skeletor, Master of The Empire, and both of those are a guy saving the Empire. There's a Fallout Crossover too, but again, it's a guy and I forget the name of that one.

I think she traveled there through a book and her homeland had issues enough to give her a bunch of scars if that helps.
