By funk rock, I of course mean stuff like what the early Red Hot Chili Peppers were so proficient at. I've recently started listening to a lot of their older albums, like Uplift Mofo Party Plan, and it's actually pretty surprising how well Hillel Slovak was able to incorporate some of the sounds of heavy metal into the Chili Peppers' decidedly funk theme. If he were still alive, I wonder just how different they might sound. The following two are, I think, the best examples.
