I am writing a story where a romance story, where a mare falls in love with a monster pony of sort. However, I am trying to find ways to add conflict and have some misunderstandings between the two of them when they first started hanging out together.

The monster pony is basically the combination of an octopus pony and a cyclops. Now before you jump up and down, and say "Oh he has tentacles so he is horny as shit," I am trying to keep the story Teen. So no, there will be no suggestive touching. Please think of something else.

Feel free to have it connected to his tendrils, just don't take it down a dirty route.

i would imagine this creature needing to be in or even near water a good amount of time due to the octopus nature you alluded to. so a good conflict could be the pony’s friend noticing the pony sneaking away to visit the creature’s home and eventually following to discover what’s happening with their friend.
