Icy Wind. For no other reason that it's the one Ice type move that Gengar can learn, and it's bloody useful. Used it to get Cynthia's Garchomp out of the fight in my Platinum Monotype run.

I have only ever encountered one Shiny Pokémon, an Oddish in Y, in the wild (Johto's Red Gyrados aside). I tried to weaken it because I didn't have all that many Poké Balls at the time, it was early in the game, but it fell to an unfortunately timed Critical Hit before I threw a Poké Ball at it...
