Locations:
Maretime Bay
Maretime Bay is a small town inhabited by Unicorns, Pegasi and Earth Ponies after the events of A New Generation with relatively basic architecture and technology. The center of the town is characterized by dense, modern low-rise buildings and non-vehicular streets, and is serviced by a tram line. The Crystal Brighthouse, where Sunny and her friends lives is on the edge of the town. The Castle of Friendship where Sarah and her family (on occasion) live is down the hillside from the Crystal Brighthouse.
Notable Places:
Castle of Friendship:
Twilight Sparkles Ancient Castle which was brought back thanks to the actions of Sunny and her friends and Sarah and her family's actions which now serves as Sarah Tomoe and her family's residence as it is down the hill from the Crystal Brighthouse
A company with a factory owned by Phyllis Cloverleaf located on a hill behind the town center. It used to produce Anti-Pegasus and Anti-Unicorn contraptions, and Phyllis states that Canterlogic products have been keeping earth ponies safe and stylish for 20 moons. However, now the factory has become somewhat dilapidated, and may have been abandoned as a result of the reunification of pony kinds.
Now it has become Canterlove Studios with the first floor being used to film shows and other entertainment while the second and third floors are meant for the Guardians of Harmony, Princesses of Old, the Adult Student Six and other creatures of Equestria to relax and get some familiarity of their old lives back. Applejacks' small farm is off to the left while Rainbow Athletic course is to the right of the studios. Fluttershy's Rehabilitation Center is at the back with wide open space like her and Discords' Furry Friends' Sanctuary.
Town square
Maretime Bay's town square is located close to the shore, a short distance from Canterlogic. Sunny sells smoothies by the seashore at the town square in her Smoothie Truck. Nearby, some outdoor tables and benches are available for its customers.
Police station
The police station of Maretime Bay is where Sheriff Hitch works
Movie theater
Maretime Bay's movie theater is located by the town square. The advertising billboards and posters on its exterior reference real-life films, such as Horns (Jaws) and Harry Trotter (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets).
Tram
Maretime Bay has a short tram line that runs through the center of the town. The tram line starts near Canterlogic and runs eastward into the outskirts of the town.
Mane Melody
Mane Melody is a business run by Pipp Petals. It is a hair salon combined with a karaoke stage. The establishment's logo is made up of two music notes each shaped like the letter "M".
Exterior: The Mane Melody is a white brick building with light pink trim and a dark gray roof.
Interior: The interior of the building has mostly pink walls and a tiled floor with a red carpet that leads up to the stage. The stage looks like a pink and purple boombox with gold speakers. A lot of the furniture is pink or purple with gold accents such as chairs and couches and mirror which can give the pony a preview of what their mane style or hooficure will look like so they can choose which one they want.
Opaline's Dark Castle
Opaline's Dark Castle is a location in Equestria. It was first seen briefly in the Make Your Mark special. It's home to Opaline and her servants, though how many ponies live there and which kinds is still unknown.
It is the fifth settlement introduced in Generation 5. It is also the third castle introduced after Zephyr Heights and Canterlot. It is shown to be near Maretime Bay, but doesn't appear to have any influence over the city. It's unknown how old the castle is or if it was built by Opaline herself or taken by her from another sovereignty. It is shown to be built on the side of a hill, making it well defendable.
Hence its name, the interior of the castle is quite dark, in opposing contrast to the well-lit Royal Palace in Zephyr Heights. From what is briefly seen, the castle is well maintained in contrast to the long abandoned Canterlot. There is a throne room for Opaline where she monitors the rest of Equestria via a magic projector and crafts nefarious plans.
It's possible that Opaline's Dark Castle is a reference to Lord Tirek's Midnight Castle, the setting of the very first media content of My Little Pony in 1984, Escape from Midnight Castle.
Zephyr Heights
Zephyr Heights is a kingdom in Equestria governed by Queen Haven
Zephyr Heights' pegasi live in big buildings, which are very modern and technologic, with big screens that broadcasts the Zephyr Heights' TV news program ZBS, product advertising and even Pipp's live streams. The city also has many big malls, cafeterias, snack bars, shops, outdoor tables with parasol and decorative plants. All buildings are white and golden with stain glass windows. It also has many street walkways that cross over the streets.
Notable Places:
The Royal Palace
The Royal Palace is where Queen Have lives and rule Zephyr Heights from while her daughters reside in Maretime Bay with her friends. The rooms of the castle seen in the movie are the large throne room (that is also used for the Pipp's performance in the Royal Gala celebration), dungeons cells (that look more like spa cells than dungeons), Queen Haven's room, a bathroom, a swimming room for Haven to swim and a control room that is used by a technician pony to work behind the scenes of the Royal family flying, with invisible wires and good light.
High above the throne room, there a little room where all wires are connected with, Queen Haven used it to retouch her makeup for the royal celebration and Pipp used it earlier for her live stream also about the celebration.
Zephyr Heights' Ancient Station
The castle has an abandoned old station, where Unicorns and Earth Ponies used to visit the pegasi in Zephyr Heights in the time were all pony kind lived in harmony and were magic still existed. It was also where Zipp's family members; the Mighty Ones; Ryu, Tamu, Sefu Drake and their Pokemon, Helioseon, Seleneon, Thundereon and Freezeon were stored after they were turned to stone by Scarlet Nightmare in a last effort to save Equestria from her reign of terror.
It has a stained glass window depicting Twilight Sparkle's cutie mark and the Pegasus Crystal and Unicorn Crystal.
Bridlewood
Bridlewood is a forest settlement which is more a forest than a village, but it has many treehouses and other places in there.
Notable Places:
Treehouses
All unicorns' houses are inside the trees, inside the buildings, it's able to see the trees' trunk, roots and branches, they even uses the branches for an extra decoration for the terraces.
La Villa Izzy
Before she moved to the Crystal Brighthouse with the Mane Five, she used to live in her house where she did her 'uni-cycling and where the Mane Five and Sarah's family stayed for shelter and to hide themselves from the other unicorns.
Crystal Tea Room
The place where all unicorns go to drink tea. Alphabittle works there as a clerk and challenges the other unicorns to get prices. In the Tea Room, there is a stage with a microphone, Beatnik Unicorn is seen there reciting a poem about Earth Ponies and Pegasi during the movie.
Playground
An outdoor playground where foal unicorns go to play, before magic returned, the young unicorns seen in the playground seemed depressed.
