Greetings, everyone! This is Mr. J back with another movie review for today! This afternoon, I will be reviewing the second installment of the JW trilogy entitled: Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Just like with the previous film, it was a solid entry and follow-up which served as a fine expansion within the Jurassic Park/World universe. This movie in particular had a lot of high stakes, world-building, and character growth although it admittedly had some generic cliches that were less than original. Nonetheless, it was a very enjoyable movie despite the flaws it contains.

This movie continues the journey of Owen and Claire as they rescue the remaining dinosaurs on Isla Nublar from an imminent volcanic eruption. However, they are waylaid by a group of mercenaries who seek to use the remaining dinosaurs for their ulterior motives. Our heroes must stop them before they create more havoc with more genetically-designed beasts.

At this point, it does feel somewhat a repetitive cliche of having a bad guy be greedy to use wild beasts for money or to have some mercenaries working together to use something for sinister purposes. In this film, the way they executed this route for the antagonists was sort of interesting and not in a "plot twist" sort of way. That is not to say that I actually liked these human antagonists though. All the human villains in this new trilogy feel quite lackluster and boring to sit through. I was rather more invested in the ravenous genetically-designed dinosaurs as the more powerful antagonists. So in case anyone is wondering, none of the human villains stood out to me in a positive way. That's it.

The CGI was still amazing as before, the visuals were fantastic, the writing was pretty good, and the acting was absolutely solid. Once again, Chris Pratt did not change his character's demeanor in any way, shape, or form. All that I can say is that he's a pretty chill, cool guy. Claire seemed to be less idiotic in this movie than the previous one, so that was an improvement. Also, it was really nice seeing Jeff Goldblum return to the franchise albeit for a minor role in this film. A surprise to be sure but a welcome one.

I was actually impressed with how this film showed us who actually cared about the survival of the remaining dinosaurs and see them as living beings. To me, the climatic tension for the main characters seemed to be more challenging and more daring than the last movie presented. It had me at the edge of my seat the whole time and made me root for the protagonists. That's how invested I was in the story. And after the way the film ended, it gave me high hopes how it would all come together in the final movie of this trilogy.

With that said, I give a mighty roar with a 9/10! Despite some nitpicks I have with it, J.A. Bayona did a fairly awesome job by making this sequel follow everything Jurassic World left off.

Peace.

You know, it's pretty lucky that the Camp Cretaceous group got off the island

I don't know why, but I'm completely uncertain over how you're going to feel about the third "Jurassic World" movie. Especially considering the negative reputation it got.

Whenever I think about this movie, I’d remember that one of my most favorite parts of it was the prologue. Everything about it carried mysteriousness, thrills, and tension, and when the T-Rex and Mosasaurus started coming in the picture…boy, my excitement skyrocketed!

Well, I love the first Jurassic World movie a bit more. I really enjoyed watching Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom
