Greetings, everyone! This is Mr. J back with another movie review for today! This afternoon, I will be reviewing the final film of the original trilogy: Jurassic Park 3! This is the only movie of the trilogy that I have never watched before as I grew up with the first two movies; thus, I decided to give this one a chance so I could see how it would all end for our heroes. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with this film. After enjoying the first two movies of this popular franchise, I had high expectations for it and wanted it to go out with a banger. Instead, it became the weakest of the trilogy in terms of the story, the plot, the characters (old and new), the action, and the soundtrack.

This film showcases the return of Dr. Alan Grant as he was invited by a rich businessman to tour around Isla Sorna, not knowing the true intentions behind the visitation. A tragic incident maroons a group of seven people which forces the newcomers to rescue them as they escape for their lives.

To be honest, this was a let-down for me because it had a lot of issues that dragged it down for me. The primary issue was nearly every character held the idiot ball for the plot to progress forward without any use of logic or reasoning. Second, the use of the dinosaurs in this movie were lackluster in terms of execution and design. I certainly did not like the fact that the T-Rex was beaten and killed easily by the Spinosaurus just out of nowhere. It didn't even seem that big of a challenge which makes it even more disappointing! Besides that, the story itself felt very uninteresting and poorly-written from start to finish. None of the characters here had any sort of intelligence whatsoever whenever they got themselves into trouble or when they tried to do something in a pitiful attempt to get out of danger. For example, stop screaming if a giant man-eating dinosaur is speeding towards your way. Either run without looking back or stay quietly still. Have they never heard of what happened in the past two movies? Or actually know how to survive?

Alan Grant himself would have been a good character like he was before if only he didn't take the idiot ball and allowed himself to be in the same level with those who were even dumber than him. The one character I hated the most was Billy Brennan...only because he thought it was a brilliant idea to steal Velociraptor eggs to sell for a fortune so he could fund their dig site for another 10 years. Yeah, sure, steal eggs from dinosaurs because that's totally not gonna end up with people getting eaten or killed knowing how dinosaurs are protective over their eggs. I honestly wished he was killed off at the end, regardless of his redemption moment.

So yeah, this movie could have been so much better, but I hated how the plot was derailed by its stupidity, the lackluster action scenes, bad characters, and the underutilized use of the new dinosaurs. I will give this a 4/10. I will admit that the acting was pretty darn good, so I'll give them that.

Peace.

I still consider this movie a guilty pleasure, but I can see where you’re coming from with all this. Even I felt bothered by the fact that the character-driven plotting seemed to be relying on the characters being dumb.

Of course, for me, the biggest issues were that of the rapid editing and quick pacing, because they caused the entirety of the story to feel surprisingly underdeveloped.

Well, I love the Jurassic Parks movie. I agree that Jurassic Parks 3 is not that good as the other Jurassic Park movies
