Greetings, everyone! This is Mr. J back with another movie review for today! This afternoon, I will be reviewing a 2010 Warner Brothers film entitled: Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, per the request of CROSSOVER KING. I remember watching this movie back when I was a teenager and enjoying it while seeing it alongside my dad . Once in a while, I would watch this movie since I was always fascinated by birds of prey (and birds in general) and always considered them to be among my favorite animals. But of course, just like with other childhood films, I haven't seen it in ages. So last night, I re-watched the movie online to see if it's as enjoyable as I remember it being. Even today, the movie is still amazing and well-written in every way!

This film is about two owlet brothers who have different mindsets and different personalities. Soren is a firm believer in dreams and legends told about the Guardians whereas Kludd is a hard-headed unbeliever. Once they are kidnapped by the Pure Ones, they find themselves on enemy territory where myth and legend become a reality and where their fates are sealed. Swayed by the lies and false promises of the Pure Ones, Kludd betrays his brother and sides with the enemy. Meanwhile, Soren gets help from unexpected allies and soon discovers the existence of the Guardians--including his childhood hero. Together, they battle against the Pure Ones as Soren learns how to be a warrior and a true Guardian.

This film has some excellent story-telling that makes you sympathize with its heroes and understand where each main character is coming from. Plus, we see the same story being played out--a tale of two brothers who are separated by destiny. Both brothers choose their own path, and each one led to consequences. I like the approach they gave for them, in giving them fleshed-out ideologies and characteristics so that we can see why they become the way they are. Jim Sturgess did a great job giving Soren a hopeful, conscientious, nervous, yet optimistic voice that made me feel for the character. Ryan Kwanten likewise nailed his vocal performance as Kludd, making him an arrogant, opportunistic, menacing antagonist.

The 3D animation was awesome and fluid, the soundtrack provided by David Hirschfelder was pretty good, the voice acting was rock-solid, and the choreography was great! Plus, Joel Edgerton did a much better performance as the main villain Metal Beak in this film than did his awful acting as Ramses in Exodus: Gods and Kings.

To be quite honest, this is probably the best film that Zack Snyder has ever made. In fact, I had no idea he directed this movie until now. At least this movie is ten times better than his DCEU movies which is saying something. Well done, Snyder, well done.

This movie showcased the important lesson about following your dreams. Even if your dreams comprise of things that may seem impossible to become a reality, if you keep following it and never give up, those dreams will come true. As a wise Autobot once said, "Hang on to your dreams. The future is built on dreams." And somehow, this lesson feels much more believable in this movie than it is in dozens of Disney movies. Suck it, Disney. Anyway, this movie is awesome and is criminally underrated. I will rate it a solid 10/10! For those of you who haven't seen it, give this movie a watch whenever you can because this movie is all-around fantastic! HOOT, HOOT!

Peace out!

I'll definitely give this movie a look at some point.

I saw trailers for it back when I was a child, but I never did see it back then due to lack of interest from the rest of my family members.

Wish there was a sequel

I loved this movie when I first watched it back in 2010 and even after seeing it a dozen more times, I still love it to this day.

This really is Zack Snyder's best movie of all time and it's a real shame that he never got to make a sequel in the last 12 years.

Oh this movie! I used to watch it all the time as a kid. Maybe I should give it a rewatch. You know what? If MLP writers had put Scorpan in the show, I guess that his relationship with Tirek would be like Kludd´s and Soren´s.

Seen this movie multiple times and have the dvd itself.

I still think Kludd is a total jerk/ass! Especially that he hypnotized his own innocent younger sibling, almost killed his other brother over the blazing forest fire. ( The one that HAVEN'T exactly done anything wrong to him before. )

And when Soren tried to save his jerkish ass brother. Kludd arrogantly ( And rather stupidity ) refused, and with this simple ungrateful act. Caused Kludd to ironically got himself burned down the fire! Sure, he miraculously survived, but still.

And worse of all, he is a hopeless simp to that villainess white owl lady. It's obvious to everybody that she is into that elderly, and heavily scared main villain; Metal Beak. That should raise some red flags here.
