Well now, an interesting phenomenon has occurred. I wrote a story that was born from a throw-away comment a friend made while I was tired, hungry, and suffering from writer's block. This produced Monitor Pony, and afterwards I wrote what is quite possibly the most surreal concept I have ever put from my brain to the paper.
What followed is a fic that people are actually reading, commenting on, favouring, and liking. This,, is an interesting feeling. Now I've been here for a long time, a loooong time, and yet I still haven't migrated most of my stories from DA over to here, and kinda want to make re-writes of each of them before I post them here. As such, I only currently have 3 fics, and I can kinda understand why each was looked at only by a small sample of people.
First we have Trix and Stones. I kinda expect this one to be burred, since I used this fic to help beta-test the site, oh, forever ago. Since it's a Trixie fic, the only way for people to easily find it without me updating is to visit my page, which they're not likely to do unless there are other fics they want to read of mine. The other way is to slog through all the Trixie Sad fics until you get near the back, so yeah, obscurity.
Then we have The Metal Shell. This one is kind of understandable why people would pass it up even though it was posted well into the popular development of the site. The fic, quite intentionally, has no character tags on it. This means two things. A) People won't know if it's about a character they like or not without reading it (Think of it like a chocolate with a little dark toy inside) and B) It's going to be impossible to find if they're searching for ANY characters at all, since there's no tag to search for.
Finally we have Monitoring is Life, and well... unno, I'm not sure what to say about this one. OC tag with surreal kinda creepy cover art, strange title, unknown author, and weird and vague description. Yet people are still finding it, still liking and favouriting it. I'm not entirely sure why, but I really shouldn't complain.
Also obligatory post on the new layout:
RIP feature box, hello 502 fanfiction. Welcome enjoy the bugs. Be warned, the Entomologists ran screaming.
Welcome to FIMFiction, where the shitty ideas are idolized and actual writing doesn't matter.

*shitty stories are idolized
Fixed that for you. There's no such thing as a shitty idea, not really. If it seems like a bad idea that's the author's fault for not handling it properly.
Wait, let me fix this even more for you.
