Chapter upload scheduling · 12:45am Apr 5th, 2022
Might as well make use of this.
So when I started writing Mistress, I made sure I had a nice buffer of chapters. Ten to be exact. This would allow me to take my time thinking over the chapters to make changes and improvements or corrections based on when I expanded on details later in the story, and it would slowly get thinner as time went on, but I was confident that I would finish writing the story altogether before running out. As you might have seen, that meant I got into a nice routine of uploading every three days, with the occasional shorter gap.
At this point, as we proceed through the latter half of the third act, I'm down to two completed chapters in hand, neither of which are as edited as I'd like. I suspect there are more errors overall as well.
Essentially this blog is just to say that I'm going to revert to two chapters per week until completion. At least until I finish writing it. It should end up as thirty five chapters overall, which includes an epilogue.
Expect these uploads to be Tuesday and Sunday night as of this post. This should allow me a little extra time to try and improve the quality, as well as afford me time to think on any changes I feel I need to make.
Thanks for your understanding, and I hope you continue to enjoy despite the slower upload schedule.
Aw, so the story's ending soon? It seems like there's still a lot more ground to cover.

Afraid so. And c'mon, I think the current estimation of it ending in the 110k word region is enough of a story, and is far and away the most I've ever written for a single tale. I'm well aware that I have a tendancy to ramble, so I'm sure that number could be much lower, but it is what it is.
The epilogue chapters should round things out nicely (or so I hope). Obviously I can't go into it here as much of it pertains to how the story closes, but it does take place after some time has passed, lays out the new status quo, and some other aspects that will become clear as we get there. I've also got a sequel in mind, but I can see it being more slice of life and segmented/episode based as a series of shorter tales, tying up parts of the story here, expanding on how the characters end up there. It should allow more time between characters and explore their relationships on a more personal level.
I normally write for other groups (this was a side venture that spiralled out of control in a welcome way) and I've been neglecting them for a number of months as I've dedicated most of my time to this story. I consider Mistress a loveletter to both FiM and EqG, which is why it takes place roughly half and half in the human world and Equestria, and that's how I intend to continue it as well, but it'll be after a break.
I greatly appreciate your ongoing interest, by the way. It's been a great motivator. Thank you for dedicating the time to read.
5648856 With regard to closing the story out soon, fair enough. Given how large my own work on this site has grown, I suspect that I have a skewed perspective as to what constitutes a long story.
And I'm glad my commenting was inspirational to you! I'm very grateful for the people who comment on my own story, and it was nice to be able to do that for someone else.
