April Foals is coming up soon and seeing how I've been lazy with writing, maybe something short and silly can get me back into it. So toss me some ideas you'd want to see about April Foals pranks and maybe one of them grabs me enough to write a few pages about it.
Pranks involving hypnosis, cartoon physics, costumes/outfits, general silliness and of course unaware hypno will naturally be more likely to grab my attention.

Well your ongoing fic There's no Time like the Presents and your previous fic Return of Puffony shows A. You can write Discord well and B. He is a great catalyst for this stuff. Perhaps Discord doing a magic show could work as a premise, the mane 6 could be the audience and Discord could call them up as volunteers and start with a classical swinging watch hypnosis that also entrances the rest, then maybe reach into a hat and pull another one out in a bunny costume. That's all I got right now but I hope it is a good enough start for you
Sadly I'm incapable of silly and original ideas such as yours but I'll throw in what came to mind. Hopefully they are at least somewhat creative.
In no particular order or even necessarily connected, just thoughts as they came:
Dash goes/went onto a pranking spree to make all of her friends all embarrassed and dizzy
and definitely never falling for them herself, nu-uh. Has to top them all off with the biggest most embarrassing and most elaborate prank yet which she obviously gets dragged into as well.Pranks could range from cute strangely padded animal outfits for Fluttershy so she can fit in more with her critter friends to swapping a certain librarian's spellbook for another (much more fun, at least in Rainbow's opinion) spellbook right before she's about to cast a spell from it or replacing a very dizzy fashionista's supplies with padding, glitter, frills, squeaks, and lots of pink so she can finally make something nice for herself and her friends. Completely illogical and overly complicated contraptions definitely have their place in there somewhere as well and heck, if all else fails bring in Pinkie or Discord to bypass all laws of physics. ...Also, return of ACME glue!
Maybe Crysalis figured out that strange things happening to them on April Fools would be mostly shrugged off so she decides to properly humiliate, confuse, hypnotize, dress up, etc. each of them. Whether or not they end up in snug puffy swirly confines from whichever predicament they fell for so she can conquer Equestria and usher in a new padded era or whatever depends on how far you want to go with it.
While not really related to April Fools, if you want free reign to do whatever you want enchanted comics, dreams/dream walking, or strange artifacts are an easy ticket.

Discord is always an option but seeing how I already have two stories in the works that revolve around him I don't think I'd write another one for this. Besides, he does that every day so there wouldn't really be as much of an April Foals theme to it.

Dash on a pranking spree is an option but there isn't really an underlying concept or explanation to it. It's a bunch of fun stuff but I don't want to have to spend a long time on the set-up or write someone having a bunch of unexplained powers/artifacts.
The Chrysalis one gives me an idea though, putting that on the list. Getting a Skitter style idea from that.

Ok next question, a scenario involving Wallflower Blush, Sunset Shimmer, Diapers, lots of Plants, lots of "Watering" lots of "Blooming" lots of Mushrooms (Hypnotic spores that is). whaddya say?
Dash tricks Rarity into wearing a magical maid outfit complete with a diaper, resulting in the latter wanting to serve all of her friends as their maid for a day, shenanigans ensue.
In order to celebrate her first April Fools day with friends, Sci Twi has come up with some customized pranks for each of them. Unfortunately for her, she neglects to calculate the effect that the corrupted equestrian magic still lingering inside of her/the school might have on them. And given the sheer amount of hormones running around the school, it further twists the magic to have a sexy twist to each one! A bucket of water falling on someone turns them into a stripper convinced she’s in a wet t shirt contest, sneezing powder that makes the brain shrink and curves grow with each sneeze, a kick me sign on someone’s back that turns them into a masochistic nerd, etc…She better hope she or Sunset can fix this before they are effected as well!

Some and some. I didn't end up inspired enough by any of the ideas but it did get me writing more again and I do have an April Foals story that may or may not still be coming this month.
I apologize for the silence, though. I tend to go into radio silence when I feel like I've failed a writing goal. >.<
