Greetings, everyone! This is Mr. J back with more The Owl House content! I will now be reviewing the sixteenth episode of the series entitled “Enchanting Grom Fright”. This is probably the best episode of the entire season for me because this was the very episode that has the best scene between Luz and Amity and also has some profound character depth between both of them. This is about Grom Night at Hexside where all students plan to attend for the party whereas Amity is selected for Grom Queen for the year. It is a big challenge for her because not only does she have to fight Grometheus the Fear Bringer (hence, why it’s called “Grom” for short) but also has to confront her worse fear. Since she doesn’t want to face her fears, Luz decides to help her out.

Thus, once Luz takes her place as Grom Queen and confronts the fear-soaking monster from the school’s basement, she faces her worst fear which she was not prepared for—her fear that her mother would find out about the Boiling Isles and that she’s been there the entire time.

That was a genius move from the writers to have her face that fear because so far she’s been hanging out with monstrous creatures in a fantasy land while her mom was completely unaware of where she’s really been. Although this was something that has already been addressed in episode 10 of season 2, it was a nice foreshadow of what Luz would have to deal with when facing her mother again.

Now to talk about the best scene of the entire episode...

This...this is just amazing to look at. This was something that made lumity shippers go absolutely insane and happy. Plus, there was some build-up prior to this scene. For quite a while now, we have seen Amity have nervous interactions with her crush Luz and the times she has been blushing. Considering that she is a lesbian, it was well-thought out and quite realistic too. Aside from that, this dance scene was beautiful. Just beautiful! Well done, Dana Terrace!

Overall, this episode was somewhat romantic, sweet, profound, and enjoyable. This shows us that we can have the confidence to face our fears and can rely on those whom we trust and love to face these fears. No one has to be alone in that regard. Thus, this episode gets an A!

Peace!

One thing I liked was the way they led into the relationship. Amity starts off as a stuck up person who we later see becoming more friendly as the season progressed. It felt natural and not just forced in as to say "We're gay. Deal with it" as some shows seem in my opinion. It doesn't matter if a character is gay/ lesbian, etc but it doesn't need to be a neon sign over them that overshadows anything else.

Heh Heh...

Say Mr. J, is it weird that I'm personally looking forward to when you review the episode of which..... Lumity becomes canon? X3

I'm personally a huge fan of that particular episode btw. :3
