To the Undying Ideal of Overanalyzing a Children's Cartoon! · 9:27am Dec 9th, 2012
So the other night I made a post in somepony else's blog about Oranges. Yeah, go read it if you feel like. Some rant about how turning an thing into an orange is better than a fireball spell. I was high on painkillers, don't judge me.
Anyway, I at some point suggested that somepony should work out a timeline based on Twilight's power level. This is a horrible idea, so don't try it.
It did give me the idea of something related. though. Try to fit her power level into a working timeline. This, of course, would mean making a workable timeline to begin with. Somepony already did half the work for me, but think I may want to give this a go. If it never sees the light of day, I wouldn't be surprised. For now, I'll just use this as a workspace. Feel free to stop reading here if you aren't interested in one pony's pointless musing. Continue if you feel it could be interesting or you could help out.
Some things to keep in mind:
-Some episodes are even more "out of order" than others. Such as with the recent revelation that the new Trixie Ep actually takes place(or at least should have) in S2.
-Does this mean anything? Not really. The season op/ed will still serve as bookends, but I'll keep my eye out for loose ends that could help with.
-Keep an eye out for continuity references. I'm pretty bad with that sort of thing. As much as the creators try to keep it nonlinear, we keep getting these sneaky blurbs...
More to come if I go with this,
conantheobsessive
I have a rough timeline of the first season spanning the equivalent of a terrestrial year, if that would help. It's for a collaboration I'll be getting to (some year), so it's mostly concerned with what repairs had to be made in Ponyville at what times.
