My Review of The Penguins of Madagascar (TV Series) · 9:03pm Nov 3rd, 2021

My TV Show Rating Score:

5/5: It is an awesome show!
4/5: It’s a good show with minor flaws
3/5: It’s overall okay/guilty pleasure
2/5: It’s bad but not awful
1/5: Look, up in the sky! It’s super bad!
0/5: MY EYEEEESSS!!!

Greetings and good afternoon to everyone! This is Mr. J with an interesting show review for today! Right now, I will be reviewing one of Nickelodeon’s intriguing comedy shows by the name of The Penguins of Madagascar per the request of A Man Undercover . This used to be yet another one of my favorite cartoon comedy shows from childhood especially due to the fact that I wholeheartedly enjoyed the first Madagascar film around that time. Seeing these penguins get the spotlight as the main characters in their own show was something I truly found very enjoyable and worthwhile since they were among my favorite characters in the first movie.

This show features not just our beloved penguins but also the lemurs: King Julien, Maurice, and Mort. If I had one issue with the film, it would be that the penguins and lemurs didn’t interact much during their own screen time, so I was a lot more happy that an entire show was focused on them both.

This series is mostly a slice-of-life, comedic, random type of show that has both Skipper and his team having their daily shenanigans in the NYC zoo where King Julien and company constantly try to mess with them. Basically, Skipper and Julien are frenemies in a way which I find to be really amusing.

All throughout the show, it has great humor, fun premises, and entertaining characters that make you sit down on your couch and laugh at the randomness it displays in almost every episode. You all know I love random humor, so it actually appeals to me even to this day.

Not to mention that this show has an excellent cast of voice actors/actresses such as the main ones: Tom McGrath, Jeff Bennett, John DiMaggio, James Patrick Stuart, Kevin Michael Richardson, Danny Jacobs as well as the others such as Tara Strong, Rob Paulsen, Dee Bradley Baker, Jerry Trainor, Grey DeLisle, and so many other voice performers. Each of them were fantastic in each of the roles they individually played throughout the series together.

However, the only complaint I have for this show is the animation style. It looks a little too weird and off in comparison to the animation of the Madagascar trilogy and specials. Nonetheless, it is something I can easily overlook and ignore while watching the show.

In conclusion, despite the fact that I don’t watch this show as much as I do for some others and that I’m not much a big fan of it as I was when I was a kid, this is still a very entertaining and enjoyable show. So I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the franchise. Therefore, I will give this a 4/5: cute and cuddly.

Peace!

I loved this cartoon.

This was one of my favorite cartoons to watch as well, and I frequently saw it all the time as a kid when it was airing on Nickelodeon.

The only thing I personally had a problem with was that the series seemed to vary in the moral and character development department. In this case, there were times where a story would have a moral, and times where a story didn't have one. There'd be times where characters would have tons of development, and times where characters didn't.

Maaan, this makes me so nostalgic. I used to watch this in Nickelodeon very often as a kid. The humour was great!

However, the only complaint I have for this show is the animation style. It looks a little too weird and off in comparison to the animation of the Madagascar trilogy and specials

That also happens with the Kung Fu Panda series Legends of Awesomeness. I guess that it must be because they´re made in another studio with lower budget.

It was so funny

Yeah, especially the slapstick:

I wish it continued

Funny thing, really.

Long ago, I started a petition to convince Universal to release the series on home video since they have the rights to all of Dreamworks’s content now. So far, the petition has up to 248 supporters.

This cartoon is one of the best thing I saw. And this moment right here

Made me laugh hard

If I may ask...

How interesting do you think it would've been if Jeff Bennett had reprised the role of Kowalski for the 2014 film of the same name?

I would have been fine with that.

What villains in “The Penguins of Madagascar” stood out to you in the best way, by any chance?

So, you didn’t like any of them?

I was just wondering.

Personally, the villains I enjoyed watching the most were Dr. Blowhole the dolphin, Hans the Puffin, Savio the Boa Constrictor, and Officer X.
