Greetings and good afternoon to you all! This is Mr. J back with another movie review for today! This afternoon, I will be reviewing yet another one of those Looney Tune movies called Looney Tunes: Back in Action. To be honest, I’ve been planning to review this installment ever since I posted my review for Space Jam but I got caught up with other projects and film reviews. Now that they are out of the way and November has just arrived, I thought it would be fitting to have this one as my first movie review for the new month. So here is my take on 2003’s Looney Tunes: Back in Action!

Within this animated/live-action hybrid film, Daffy Duck quits Warner Brothers as he is sick and tired of being treated as second rate to Bugs Bunny. As he leaves, he soon allies himself with Damien Drake Jr. who is a WB stuntman. Eventually, they both discover that Drake’s father is an international spy besides being a famous movie star. That man was captured by the evil Mr. Chairman from the Acme Cooperation who is seeking to get his hands on the Blue Monkey Diamond to take over the world. Thus, he must be stopped before it is too late.

As someone who both watched and enjoyed Space Jam while growing up, this film was equally as enjoyable and entertaining as the former was. This has an interesting plot, character dynamic, and wicked fun humor. All the Looney Tunes were still as funny as ever in the previous movie, and they are just as in-character as before. Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck were the best as always.

Even though some of the human characters were forgettable, I did enjoy the performance of Brendan Fraser as DJ Drake, Jenna Elfman as Kate, and Steve Martin as Mr. Chairman. Speaking of which, Steve Martin was the perfect choice to play as the villain. I loved his sense of humor, ecstatic personality, and absolute insane sense of evilness. Gosh, he looked like he had fun as the main antagonist.

I likewise enjoyed the cameos some characters made on here such as Matthew Lillard as himself in having a conversation with Shaggy and Scooby-Doo. That scene alone confirms that the first live-action Scooby-Doo film exists in this universe. That’s hilarious! 😂

The voice acting was splendid, the blending of the animated characters with the live-action setting was great, the writing was good, and the humorous action scenes here and there were well-paced in my opinion.

The main thing I love about this movie is the mixing of adventure, mystery, and fun that makes it an unforgettable movie experience even by animated film standards. Just like with Space Jam, it has both heart and solid character interaction. So I can’t really say which one is better because I honestly enjoy both as one and the same.

Overall, I fully enjoyed myself while watching this movie. Therefore, I give it a 9/10!

Welp, that’s all, folks!

In my opinion, it is. It’s just as good as Space Jam.

I may watch it in my free time

In my opinion, this movie was even better than “Space Jam”. Everything about it actually felt like a Looney Tunes movie, in large part because it was much more faithful to the spirit of the classics.

I love this movie

I am not accepting requests at this time as the year is coming to a close.

Something I’m deeply hoping regarding Mr. Chairman is this:

With the “Coyote vs. Acme” movie coming next year, I would love to see the character make another appearance in the film. Along with Steve Martin reprising the role.
