I'm Back And (Hopefully) Better Than Ever/Crossover Annoucement

Well, I certainly have been gone for a long time.

Hello, everyone. Wow, a lot has happened since the last time I made a post for...anything.

Now, I'm not one to pad before news, so I'll get straight to the point in a few bullet points:

1. Yes, I am back. For real this time. However, I will not be updating any of my old stories anytime soon, as they were all made while I was still my old hate fic writing self. And I don't want to put myself in that mind space anymore...or maybe I just can't get into it anymore.

2. I have improved in my writing...at least I hope so. I know that I'm better at writing characters and making stories work nowadays. How much so though, that's up to debate. Read a bunch of stories that are way better than mine to help me out.

3. I no longer hate this show. More specifically, I don't like it but I respect it. I'm no longer the raging, cursing, user I was before. I've chilled out a lot. And while I still can't bring myself to watch the show, I can at least bring myself to write it while doing some actual research...from a Wiki. Don't worry though, I'm going to do everything in my power to actually get the canon characters right this time around.

Now then, what is this all about? Why did I suddenly decide to write a blog post here? After 4 years?

Well, put simply, since I started writing again I've noticed that I tend to have moments where an idea for a Story (normally either a Fanfic or Quest) sticks my head until I fucking write it. And that's where I'm at right now. I've got this idea for a Crossover Story between MLP and a Tabletop RPG called Godbound.

If you don't know what Godbound is and are interested, you can literally download the entire Core Rulebook for Free on DrivethruRPG now and forever. Everything you need to play the game, completely free. If you can't be bothered to download it and do some homework for a Fanfic, then just know that Godbound is a game where the PCs play as people Bound to Words Of Creation (essentially Concepts of the World) that gives them the powers of Gods.

Now, here are a few things to know about the upcoming fanfic:

1. Yes, the Crossover NPCs will be OP. From a Narrative Perspective, Godbound are some strong motherfuckers man. However, this will NOT simply be a story where OP Characters come to Equestria and solve all problems and kick all ass. Problems will be solved and ass will be kicked, but that won't be the main focus. The focus will be more on character interactions, and how the MLP Characters react/live with the Godbound Characters and vice versa.

2. This will take place in Anthro-Equestria. Why? Cause it's the idea I had. Shipping/Sex/Etc, might happen. At best I'm gonna allude to it and make innuendos at the start, but I don't know if I'll write straight smut later.

3. Only ONE of the Godbound MCs will be human. Godbound don't have to be Human. They can be any race or anything. And they can turn into just about anything too. There's a Godbound who is a woman who transforms herself into a sword, and lets her husband wield her in battle while still being able to use her powers. Why would I do this? Cause I think it could add something to the story. And because, Gods. They don't have to follow human anatomy.

4. The last time I was aware of anything involving this show was when Twilight just became an Alicorn and annihilated Tirek. As such, that's the point in the timeline where this story will take place. Thus if there are any characters that showed up after that point, don't expect to see them. Sorry if you were hoping to.

5. There is a Deluxe Edition with some extra rules that costs money, a few Splat Books that costs money, and lots of Homebrew. I will be using some of these in the Crossover, mostly as a way to give the Godbound MCs powers that I think will match up with their characters. I will also add in Definitions and Explanations from the Godbound Books at the end of every Chapter, to explain certain events that may happen in said Chapter.

And, that's about it for the news.

How long will it take for me to write this? Not sure. I've got a job that takes up most of my weekdays now, but I still find time to write. It will take a bit though as I no doubt have a LOT of Wiki Scrounging to do.

Either way, I hope I still have some people who are interested in what I'm doing. Can't wait to write this story out.
