So, do you guys ever have a project that you're like, "oh, I'm excited to work on this!" and you kinda have the ideas bouncing around in your head, but they're patient enough to wait until you get to your keyboard?
And then you get a new idea, and it's like ALL YOU CAN THINK ABOUT? 
YEAH, that's how I've been feeling for the past week!! I think it had to do with reading a fanfic that REALLY inspired me, with its literally-100k of unresolved sexual tension/pining, and I knew I wanted to do something just as epic!! Or, almost as epic! (I won't pretend that I can get to 100k without a lot more prep work! 
)
ANYWAY, my latest story is going to be for the new M/M writing contest, since that's my absolute favorite genre, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't mostly for my own enjoyment. It's going to be about a bat pony and a zebra falling in love, but they're plagued by miscommunication, arranged marriage, and lots of misadventures on the way! Plus, I get to fold in lots of world building for both species, since we never saw much of either in the canonical TV series! I can't wait!! 
The only downside is that FimFiction seems to be borderline homophobic when it comes to gay pairings, although lesbian stories usually do well/okay. It can be discouraging, when you're so excited to work on something that you know other people are going to downvote based on their feelings instead of the quality of the writing! 
Still, I hope you guys will enjoy it at least! I know I will!
The biggest roadblock I've hit so far is naming conventions ... what the heck do I call my bat pony and zebra?!
