I am not in Afghanistan (Haven't been for a fairly long time)
    Cons:
    Not in the US
Not in a location that furthers my contract (contract can be considered "extended" for the foreseeable future)

    I am alive

As the title say, I am.

Onwards to what has nerfed me from this and many other sites. (I've been gone, what, a month?)
    1. I have been really busy due to my work with an average of 108.5 hrs of my being active in my job.
(If that doesn't make full sense, ask and I might be able to explain better)

This is the first I've heard of anything like this, honestly surprises and saddens me.

I can see both sides of the issue here. I understand that there are child militants, but I also understand that sometimes horrible mistakes are made.

There really isn't a good option. I wish there was some way to make it suck less.

581642
The closest we've come to a child militant was a kid who was forced to carry a belt of ammo:applejackunsure:

"If one can't tell which adults are the enemy, how will one tell which angry child is the one?"
^^A quote from a friend that served during Russia's invasion of Afghanistan^^

Either way, you and me both.

Huh. No offence Reaper, but I have lost some respect for the American brass, and A lot of respect for NATO. I mean... wow.

582166 None taken. I've always thought of NATO to be similar in nature and effect as U.N., though they, unlike U.N., do not intend to be.
I say this with no small measure of pride or joy: Many of my fellows in my unit, including my CO, found this event and mind-set to be abhorrent.
There are now none in my unit that will continue their service after the end of this deployment.

582620 Hmm. I know it is a tragedy, but this may be what we need to get the public to force all NATO units out of Afghanistan.

582740 Maybe.
Sad thing is while Afghans can do the fighting, well-enough anyways, they sort of have a problem with corruption and information leakage. The only real reason I see for any non-Afghan units to be in-country is to provide assistance with those problems :applejackunsure:
But I work for a living, what do I know :rainbowlaugh:

582780 You are of course, not an officer. The joke is not misplaced. Anyway, way I see it, is let the afghans fight their own war. They kicked Russia's ass, and they will never set foot in that country again, so why don't we do the same? Seriously though, why not? I see literally no negatives to just leaving them to their own devices.

Maybe annex the country... keep those who are in, in, and those who are out, out. I mean really...

Best YOLO I have ever seen. :rainbowlaugh:

583567 American Politics*
Canadian politics actually make sense; The conservatives are all robotic assholes, the liberals are all penny pinching assholes, green party just wants weed ans green energy, rhino party is best party, and the Bloc just want to seperate from Canada.

Or at least, that part makes sense... then we get shit like this: The Conservative government won the voteing. They now have a Minority government even though they are the centre of parliament. It was like that for 8 years. 8 years of the conservative Prime Minister wanting to do something, and then being outvoted by the liberal opposition. Because liberals had a majority fucking government. :facehoof:

583741
That is one way to get caught :rainbowderp:

583778 American politics stopped making sense after Washington. Democrats are the longest consistently running party and completely change ~2-3 presidents. America Had something similar happen at one point, don't know when or who though :trixieshiftleft:
What can one do when the ignorant rule? dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/shrug_Twilight_future.png

585549 When in Rome...

Anyway, American politics never made sense... Washington signed the Declaration of whatever it is, which was very anti slavery. Washington owned 200+ slaves.

How does that make sense?

586041 Actually politics do make sense, they just get complicated when things get delayed. Benjamin Franklin's case is more fun, he was against slavery but he still had slaves even when the constitution was signed. (Because other races weren't included which was a bit rude.) He even banged his mistress who was black and had a son with her (he was also his slave.) Well the thing you need to understand is that slavery was viewed differently in the 1700's and 1800's, they were viewed as children even when they were adults. And yada yada history history.
585549 Politics didn't make too much sense at that time because it kept getting changed, it was new after all. It's pretty bad ass today, but it started getting more complex and unfair somewhere in the 80's because of large company's. Heh, corporate jokes. :rainbowwild:

586995 Yah, I really don't care about why or how they did it, or the fact that they did it. It's just an example of irony. There are no heroes.

587616 The founding fathers were not perfect they all had different opinions and had their flaws.
And there are hero's examples: Police, Doctors, Nurses, Firefighter's, etc.
I'm currently studying to become a Paramedic. :pinkiehappy:

Internets was being evil, couldn't respond until now :twilightoops:

586041
Slavery and those who were slaves were viewed vastly differently back then compared to now, otherwise, what you said is true.

586995
Phrase, Author: (Forgot, sorry): "Politics has never made sense, due to humanity."

587616
There are heroes, just a lack of faultless humans.

587719
That's a tough and varied job :moustache:

587834 Tell me about it, they're not gonna trust just anyone to do this kind of work. I need this experience to become a Firefighter/Paramedic. :fluttershyouch:

587878
I know a few firefighters! :pinkiegasp: They're all pyromaniacs too! :rainbowlaugh:

588669 Hmm...a hard one to speak understandably...
To me, as a soldier and one of bad past, a hero is one who puts their life on the line to protect others, their own ideals and values - and those of others, and saves others from themselves. A hero is also the "guys" to your left, right and back who will support you and keep* you even at the risk of their own life. Lastly a hero rarely promotes themselves, due to the idea/ethic/moral that it is wrong to do so.
Finally, to me and by my own ideas of what a hero is, I am not a hero and I can never conceive my being one.

*keep = resist you if you go against what you hold to be of value.

589706 Good answer. Also I lied. a while back, I gave my definition of a hero. It was remarkably similar to yours, but I do like yous better.

590788 I have excessive desire of fire:pinkiecrazy:

591749 In that case, check-out the magic that has occurred!

591768  Sometimes silence is the correct answer.

585549

Politics? Make sense? Especially American Politics? That'd be like telling Pinkie that she could not move, speak, or eat anything sugar for the rest of her life. :rainbowlaugh:

591838

591842 Not quite, I imagine that becoming an explosion with the origin-point being Pinkie herself:rainbowlaugh:
