So, I've done my first few days of retail work. I've got to say it's a bit dull to me. It should only be temporary until I can figure out what career I want in the future. The problem is I have no clue what my career will be. I enjoy writing in my spare time, but unless I write an entire book at a constant pace, which is unlikely, I can't make a good profit.
I would really appreciate some ideas that could help get my train of thought in motion. Until then I'll be at retail for a while.
Hm...well, what other things are you good at that you like?

Well, I have plenty of experience when it comes to mowing lawns. I've tried programming once, but it just confused me. My dad recommended I take a look at how to repair tablets, smartphones, and tech like that. That's about all I know for my job hunting.

Okay, well, forget stuff you know exists as jobs. What do you enjoy doing?

There's writing for one, though that's one of the only things. My mom recommended I take a look at some college classes to see if anything piques my interest.

Stop-well, okay, that's actually a good point. But otherwise, stop thinking about what everyone else thinks you should do, or you'll get stuck with something you don't enjoy

I'll try. Side note, this job hunting does give me an idea for a future story.

Nice
Yeah I guess when you're not enjoying your job you want to find something you really do that and you want to at a place that you actually want to be
