Entry 3, way sooner than I had hoped for.

Basically, I managed to put together CH5 significantly quicker than I had predicted.
Turned out that the old chapter I had written (prior to submitting to fimfiction, back when I wrote solely on my own on google docs) wasn't all that bad and outdated after all, sure, it took some changing and updating but it turned out alright, or I'd like to think that it did, people here seem to be deathly afraid of speaking their mind about things.
Today I finished updating and fixing CH5, I did release it sooner in the process (write, think, proof read, release) than I normally do so there were a few things I wanted to change before moving on to CH6, there has been no significant change that warrants a re-read of the chapter, it's mostly just rephrasing or minor additions to dialogue that I felt was oddly written, so it's not that big.

AS FOR CHAPTER 6, I am not going to spoil it too much, but essentially, everyone dies.
Yes, seriously. You'll see.
I might as well give up any attempt of giving an actual SET estimate this time, I could say "Oh but it PROBABLY wont me done before the 24th" but there is no telling if I have another one of those sleepless nights where I sit down and jolt out an entire chapter just like that, so it might really be anything between 4 days to next month.
Right now I only need to figure out how to best approach some of the things I want added in the chapter, the *ehergm* new character is interesting, so I will want to do something with her, after I got some of those issues sorted out it's pretty much smooth sailing all the way til chapter 7.
Now, chapter 7 on the other hand will be messy, I only have one concept for it, a single thing, and I know for sure that one thing wont be enough for 20k words, so I'll have to figure something out there, not to worry, still got plenty of time before I have to worry about CH7, still got a whole chapter to write before that so I'll tie something up in a snap.

In terms of non-STC news, I have begun to brew up a few other story ideas, nothing worth elaborating on at the moment, some are more interesting than others, and some require more of a risk to be taken (in that not everyone would like it, even in the degenerate and insane world of fimfiction.net).
There is this concept for a story set in the same universe as STC in a parallel timeline that I kinda wanted to do, it would be set mainly just before and after the STC ending (which I obviously can't disclose anything on since it would be a humongous spoiler to give away this early on).
But that itself would be almost as sizable of a project as this is so I am shelving that for now, letting it gather up concepts and plans, like a good wine.

Interesting thing I wanted to mention is EQD.
A few days ago I contacted EQD regarding story submission, realizing that my original plan of submitting this thing at intervals of 10 chapters would be thwarted by their rules (no X-rated or overly gorey fics), I asked them if there was any possibility of the series being accepted if I didn't include scenes of clop (not really something I hold dearly so I wouldn't have had problems giving those up).
Despite my overly formal and long nervous mail they gave their answers within a day, their answer was along the lines of "Yes, but you would also have to remove or limit overly gorey and violent bits for it to be accepted".
This however, is something which I would be very unwilling to do (for three reasons, 1: we are not 6 years old anymore, 2: writing violent scenes of combat where one or more characters get showered in blood is fun, 3: I have a sadistic taste of fictional violence and it would be no fun to give all the violence up to appease the limitations set by EQD), for a moment I considered making a rewrite by the side that replaced any such scenes for the sake of submitting it to EQD (and offering the real uncensored version as a link there) but then I decided against it because it would be boring, tame and take effort, plus it would be really redundant to have two versions of the same damn story sitting around.
So I respect their decision and rules and have decided against any attempt of submitting STC to EQD.
If I have to fumble around in the dark with only a handful of readers to stay true to what I like doing then so be it, that's fiiiine by me.
