Setting hopes way too high? · 8:24am Dec 5th, 2012
Hello there once again.
Viva Las Pegasus keeps going smoothly. I've recently uploaded chapter 7 and chapter 8 is waiting for a revision prior to be published. I like where the story is going and how the characters are being developed. Lately, I've been having my work reviewed by two great fellows, Delvius and Doomande. Thanks a lot to both.
The thing that worries me (well, more properly it makes me proud and happy, but it also gives me a certain feeling of responsibility) is that I might be setting my readers' hopes way too high. Having your fic compared to the original FOE is both really motivating and a bit of a challenge. I'm not saying I'm chickening out, I'm just saying I hope to be able to maintain that level.
Anyway, I should have a new cover image sooner or later, and as always, I welcome anypony to come, read and comment.
S3rb4n over and out.
Just write how you normally do but improve upon your points of weakness, and your good. And yes, the whole 'comparing to FOE' thing can, I suppose, cause alarm. However, I think that you deserve it.
Keep it up!
576221 Thanks, Delvius. Will do my best.
576224 Good luck; lot's of competition out there. If there's ever any thing I can help you with, tell me.
576226 You're doing much already, by reading, reviewing and pointing out flaws. What I could profit from is promotion. The more readers, the more feedback, the better I think I'll do.
576228 I could do a blog, yeah. I've got a fair number of fans, I suppose they'd listen to me.
But I don't suppose I could please ask you to do the same? It would help me, too.
576230 Of course. Although I don't think you'd get much more fandom from what I've got. It's mostly Doom and you.
576233 I take what I can get.
576234 Of course, we all do There you go, new blog post added.
