Blog 002 : Power and How it interweaves with forgiveness

Hi! folks!

I was thinking recently about how power informs redemition. Now...what could I mean by this? You may wonder...

I had afteer reading and writing - a long story that I will finish, mind. I had a thought, really a old one that formed into deeper one. So...

Here me out...in fantasy and real life[which inspired this some what...] people want redemptions say? Bad guy does bad and good old redemption come in? But what struck me was that in even this...their is a power dynamic at play? Money, status, what you look like? Are you consiered pretty pretty? Are you know...not white?

Who is redeeming who? Can you be redeemed if only one person considers you good now? What if you forgive yourself but your actions supercede any forgiveness...aka eternal night? The last ramifications of that? Sure, they are not fun as a story...but it is interesting?

Where only pony nations effected?

So then I thought on Equastria and how redemption and forgiveness are good in all. But with out the politcal weight of power ponys on her side? Would Starlight had been redeemed? Or any other character in a position of power?

Say Luna see...was nightmare moon. Truly, and say also that she commited unforgivable acts in her madness. The reasons are important but ultimately redundant for my arguement. Feel free to address them if you desire...

Would she be welcomed so readily if her sister was not the absolute dictator - no matter how benevolent she seems?

What if Luna was griffon? - story idea anyone?

Or rejected her sisters overture of friendship? Aka my long term project I am working on now. [ similar concept to other storys but different from others that strayed down this road.]

So, essentially what I am saying. Forgiveness and just like everything else can be a interwoven thing. After all would a poor lady from say somewhere else? Foreign country be as forgiven if the crime was done by citizen? Or if one is wealthy and one is poor?

Woman or man?

Pony or griffon?

In truth narratively ,and soceitally this is more interesting even in real life. But, does get me thinking about the state of governinance in my little pony
