Something of a Dilemma Regarding My Fic · 1:44am Jun 30th, 2021
Hiya folks. Me again.
So even though Paradise Found continues to be in long-term stasis (I only JUST got around to writing Chapter 25 of Dancing With Fire on my AO3 page), I still think about it often. Some of it is guilt for not continuing a story that many people have enjoyed up to this point.
However, I am also having conflicting feelings regarding how this story should be tagged. Now, I'd intended from the get-go for this story to have some darker undertones and explore some of the real-world consequences of what would otherwise be a good kinky porn story. That said, I am wondering whether I should tag Paradise Found as "Non Con."
After really thinking it over, it occurs to me that every time Rainbow Dash has sex with Gilda in that fic is dub-con at best. And she feels terrible about it afterward, even though she enjoyed it in the moment. I'm conflicted because while I hesitate to call it the four-letter r-word, there really isn't much in the way of enthusiastic, affirmative consent either.
I understand and anticipate that my viewer base might get a little smaller if I attach "Non Con" to Paradise Found, and for good reason. I know I generally avoid reading porn stories with that tag because I personally dislike it. But at the end of the day, what's happening to Rainbow Dash in the story is definitely not something she wants, and she's fighting against every step of the way. It'd be ironic, as lately with my Helluva Boss fic I've been making a point to depict affirmative consent in the sex scenes (something that's lacking in many smutfics across fandoms).
I already know how this story is gonna end once I finally get around to writing it again. I might take another day or two before I make a decision of how I'll tag it. By all means provide your feedback below in the meantime.

UPDATE 6/30: It is done. Non Con tag has been added, and "Dubcon" has been added to the kink list in the description.
