I threw the Bible away for good since no one wants it. At this point, I don't care anymore if I get cancelled by fundies, extremists, and narrow-minded conservative Filipino "Christians" who have no idea what I'm going through. I've gotten rid of something that is a symbol of trauma and I never want to see it ever again.
Hey man your life live it your way
It's your life, and they have no right to make you do what they want.
Good on you.
Now, shall I put you down for agnostic or should we find you a religion that would respect you? (I'm half joking about signing you on for another religion, it's your choice to make, not mine. But to clarify, are you choosing to be agnostic?)

From 2015 to 2020, I was an atheist. I stopped attending a self-righteous mainstream Church after finding out that there's an LGBTQ+ affirming Church, a safe space where I'm free to be myself.
Ever since, I regularly attend their online worship service and I eventually became a progressive Protestant, not deeply religious though.
I would say that you should have the Bible with you and have a new meaning behind it. From what I heard you said, it is the meaning that it currently has and past experiences that brings up bad omens to you. God would not want you in distress or despair, it is the flaws of man that have given you this. Though it would not be easy, I would suggest keeping a Bible and try reflecting on God's love instead of what has happened from others.
