Moving on from Chapter 14

Chapter 14 was painful to write, I kept second guessing myself every step of the way because of that one reveal in it. Moving on from Chapter 14 we're not out of the woods yet. There is something coming up for this story where I'm pretty sure I'm going to lose people.

To lessen the blow a bit or at least lose some people early I've decided to put out this blog post.

The idea behind what I'm introducing in this fiction(lets just call it "the new fiction") is an idea of what the future could look like, graphene, genes have been replaced, you can get your head put back on, everybody lives in rotating habitats in dyson spheres(by modern standards dyson swarms, but I want to kill the modern idea of a dyson sphere dead, it's stupid, especially compared to the original idea of what is now called a dyson swarm.)

To that end people design their own bodies, they can switch races(think fantasy races not modern day races, nothing to do with say skin pigmentation, everything to do with say switching from a jellyfish werewolf to a raptor-rat thing) and that means by extension they can choose their own gender. To facilitate that I decided to utterly cut this stuff off from modern gender politics entirely.

The way it looks now is like this sorta infinity symbol thing I did with crappy ascii:(I would like you to pretend that the periods here are just spaces, fimfiction removes spaces and tabs and it really screws with formatting)

And in the middle of the infinity symbol you have the mid part, AKA mid-andro, mid-female, etc. I deliberately set this up to avoid any connection to modern gender politics. That's the baseline for all this.

Now in addition to that I ran into another problem, people are generally going to want to have kids, their kids, and I hammered my skull at this for quite a long time before I found the solution: Everybody from this new fiction is a hermaphrodite, they have both sexual organs can bear children and where they put themselves on that infinity symbol thing depends on how they emphasize primary and secondary sexual characteristics.
So a male would be male secondary sexual characteristics and de-emphasized female primary sexual traits. Andro would be the same with a focus on female primary sexual traits and de-emphasized male ones. De-emphasized in this case means hidden most of the time, I think you get the picture.

The last thing to explain would be the mid part of all this, here somebody who is stereotypical male/andro would just look like a guy, end of story. With the mid part of the spectrum you have people who are on the borderline, and I invented that terminology because I didn't want to have to write "femboy" or "tomboy" over and over again. I wanted a term that has no existing connection so people don't automatically think of one thing or another when they think of it.

I am certain that this post, even with how deliberately neutral I'm trying to be with all this is going to get me some creepy stalkers who follow me around and hate everything I do for whatever reason. But I hope it's gone some way to explaining my position on this, what I'm trying to write is the future, a place where nobody would care if you were say trans, if you complained about it they would just tell you to go down and change yourself already. People wouldn't worry about getting fat or old or coming out to their parents or changing who you were. Basically I want a fiction where all of the bullshit that happens today in gender politics is just solved already.

Even with saying all that I'm not done with this sorta thing and there is more coming about this, just nothing I think would really piss anybody off.
