Introduction to Gale Wind · 7:40am Dec 3rd, 2012
I've decided to write a narrative that is a bit of a 'prequel' to the other stories. It explains who Gale Wind is, how the characters are humanized, and the other details of my AU. Thing is, I haven't decided how to publish it. I feel like it would be a good first chapter on each History. But I'm not sure about that. I don't know if it's against the rules, for one. But maybe it would be better as its own story. I want to make sure that everyone reads it. Thoughts, fearless reader?
Would probably be simplest to publish it into a blog post, and then at the beginning of each story, include a one-line author's note that links to it. Consider it something of an inline footnote.

I dunno. It is narrative, and it's longer than any other chapter I've posted so far, even though it isn't complete. It may reach 2000 words. It is, itself, a story. But maybe a quick link to it in the description would work...
If it's traditional narrative fiction and it's >1000 words, then yeah, it could work equally well as a story of its own. (Blog posts are simply the traditional dumping ground for publically posting things that wouldn't pass story moderation.)
It just seems more proper to link elsewhere to explanatory material rather than to repeat it at the beginning of each story, both from a site-rules perspective and a reader perspective.

It's currently 1571 words, so it's a legit story. And presenting all of this in a dry blog post seems both ineffective (since people might ignore it) and too boring for people to care. It is a bit of an amusing story itself. Especially since we get to see Lyra.
