Some of my stories are being cancelled. · 5:21pm May 22nd, 2021
Over the past week or so, I've gone through all of my stories. Of all 12, there were 4 that were incomplete. I decided it was time to take a closer look at those incomplete stories, and try and figure out what I wanted to do with them.
I glanced over the plans I had for all four. Only one of them was really flushed out to the end, Equine Fall. The Sun Sets at Twilight had tentative plans, but no real vision in mind. Which brings me to the last two.
The Twilight Rainbow was doomed from the start. It is one of the first MLP fanfics that I ever wrote (only being crossposted on here from FF after a few months of me being here), and has literally no plot. There was no goal, so conclusion, no planning... it was just 13,000 words of nonsense that culminated into a confusing revelation that I had no idea where to jump off of. So, unfortunately, I've decided to cancel the project.
All Good Things was slightly more optimistic. I had a goal in mind - it was supposed to be a rough approximation of the ST:TNG finale where Discord (Q) puts Twilight and Rainbow through an intricate trial to help cure their increasing depression and find each other in the end. However, it was one of the heavier fics I was writing at the time, and I just really didn't have the heart to put the weight into it that I should have. Thus, I feel it came off half-baked and insincere. So, I've decided to cancel this one as well.
The Sun Sets at Twilight will remain on hiatus, for now. I'm going to storyboard it out and see what I can do with it. It will probably require extensive re-writes of the existing chapters, but I hope I can salvage something of it.
I know this will be a disappointment to many of you, and I know it's breaking my rule/promise of never cancelling a story. But the reality of the matter is that I most likely would never finish them anyways, and as my life gets busier, that chance gets less and less. I'll leave them up on here for now, so you can read through them one last time or more.
