Hello again! Here is my review of Spring Breakdown, the third of the five next special episodes of Equestria Girls! Finally, we have before our eyes yet another episode that seized the golden opportunity to crossover with the MLP world. I genuinely enjoyed this episode all the way through and actually found this plot really interesting which is more than I can of the previous episodes we’ve talked about. It had moments of absolute fun, adventure, and good comedy. Plus, this is one of the two episodes that didn’t have an antagonist at all (I really don’t think you should count The Storm King’s magic as an “antagonist” lol). To me, it was a wise decision as we needed a break from dumb villains with dumb reformations.

Speaking of which, it was really intriguing to see that The Storm King actually did have magic of his own which somehow ended up in the human world. However, that creates a plot hole: how exactly did his magic end up in the alternate dimension? In fact, when was it ever established he had magic at all? Hmm, there’s a theory I have in mind:

Could it be possible the alicorn magic he stole in the movie was sent to the skies when he created that tornado in the clouds? But... how do we know for sure it created a portal off-screen? I dunno, they gave a poor explanation as to how his magic ended up in the human world.

On a side note, it was actually amazing that Sci-Twi visited Equestria for the first time and likewise for Human Rainbow Dash. That was an awesome crossover to see. The interactions and the dialogue were spot-on and hilarious.

Although I do admit Rainbow was a bit annoying and irrational with her behavior, she was still an enjoyable character to watch. Oh, and it was interesting to see that this took place sometime in season 7 since Spike hasn’t gotten his wings yet and there was no sign or mention of the School of Friendship. Great detail right there. In light of all the things I mentioned, I will give this episode an A-! Thanks for reading and stay tuned for my review of Sunset’s Backstage Pass.

Peace!

I haven't seen this, but I know the concept, and I love it.

It was Interesting.

Although I do admit Rainbow was a bit annoying and irrational with her behavior,

For me, that was one of the only things I wasn’t too fond of regarding this special. Before she, Sci-Twi, and Sunset came to Equestria, she acted like nothing but a brash jock who consistently ruined everyone else’s fun. That, and most of the jokes (outside of the ones revolving around Pinkie, and Sunset, Sci-Twi, and Rainbow while they were in pony form and spending time in Equestria) were flat at the most, and Ashleigh Ball’s performance as Rainbow was cringy in some parts.

I didn’t think the episode was all bad, though. I too enjoyed the fact that they decided to change things up in terms of what the overall danger for the girls to face would be, and there were other aspects I admired about the special too. Overall, I don’t consider it the best installment around, but I also thought it was an improvement over “Rollercoaster of Friendship”.

Out of curiosity…where are you getting those posters you’re using for the EG specials?

They’re really awesome.

You just have to google them. They’re not hard to find. Lol
