Chapter 11 is done. · 6:07pm Apr 25th, 2021
Chapter 11 is done, barring any huge rewrites it should come out in a couple days. Also yesterday I completed my fourth consecutive week of unbroken writing every single day, there wasn't a single day in the last four weeks where I fell below 300 words a day. Chapter 11 before I look over it for errors and stuff is about 3800 words long.
My overall goal for writing is between 1 and 2 pages, Amazon says a page is 250-300 words so ideally I should be writing about 500-600 words a day. Now that might feel like a bit... low and I'll explain why I decided to go with that number.
I went with two pages a day because I don't want to burn out on writing like I've been doing writing chapters before this. What would happen was I would write as much as I possibly could until I absolutely COULD NOT WRITE ANYMORE. That was basically like painting myself into a corner and then having to sit around waiting for it to dry before I could write again. On top of that generally that point was when I just couldn't think of what could possibly come next or how to handle it so I would drop my writing for a long time and not think about it, that's why it was always so long inbetween chapters before.
Now when I write I have a clear stopping point and I never reach a point where I'm like "I don't know where to go from here." It's like I'm handing off the writing from day to day to myself rather than dumping a problem I don't want to solve for the future. In addition to that I'm also writing on two stories, one on the backburner, and one as the main story(Werewolves of Knicknik), that way if I do run into something I don't exactly want to deal with right away I can put it off a day and think about it more. That's actually what is keeping things going so well, since I'm writing every day I'm thinking about the stories more and things are progressing a lot more smoothly than ever before.
