Why do I like the Changelings very much? · 3:29am Apr 22nd, 2021
This is me detailing I love all the changeling characters we got to know in MLP.
Thorax-
Because he’s an absolute sweetie pie and I will die for this cinnamon roll. He’s is what made me love changelings to begin with, and it was a sin he didn’t get more episodes focused on him. I actually see myself in Thorax a lot; He’s shy and nervous, the little bean, and I can totally relate to his unsure nature when it comes to being a leader. Also, his voice makes me think he’s a teen, so, ya know, more projecting from me. It’s why he’s my favorite.
Pharynx-
I like him aesthetically. He’s design is more appealing to me, being my favorite colors, red and purple. His reformed dark cyan is also nice contrast to his more brighter colors, and I liked that he kept his darker color schemes. Almost made me wish all the Changelings look like that! Other than that, I think Pharynx has the most story potential. He’s the changeling with the least amount of screen time, his gruffer personality, and that he so devoted to the hive makes him perfect candidate for all the headcanons!
Ocellus:
SHE’S WHAT I WISHED THE NEWER CHANGELINGS LOOKED LIKE PERIOD. Like, the see through mane, the pastel colors, it’s ON POINT.
Ahem, anyways, she’s technically has more screen time than Pharynx, but boi howdy it’s doesn’t feel that way. She’s the character I wished has gotten explored, but sadly never did. I did like some snippets we got; her shy tendencies, bookworm nature, and I like the fears she struggled in...that one episode...that was never brought up again...
Ocellus actually frustrates me because how Mlp treated her character D:
Chrysalis-
She can burn for all I care.

Your reasons for loving Thorax echo mine exactly. Same for Chrysalis.
The changelings in general were rather underused, which is why I'm desperately praying they're around in G5. Like, I'm not even kidding that my investment in future generations of MLP rests solely on whether the changelings exist. I want them to become a staple race for MLP like dragons are so we can always have more stories featuring them (and maybe possibly always have a Thorax or Ocellus).

I agree with everything you said about Thorax (except for the teen projecting part because I'm not a teen anymore, but he does have a cute voice so yeah
). It's a crime we didn't get more of him

I could get behind pretty much everything you said here. Cinnabug is precious.
He spoke in literally just one episode, then was relegated to background appearances. And yet that episode completely won me over for Pharynx, even if I haven't actually watched it and just read a summary. Tsunderebug best bug.
I honestly don't know much about Bookbug. Good fanfic material though, that I can assure you.
