***********

Hey, everyone. Tonight, I will be talking about the third installment of the Toy Story series: Toy Story 3. This is by far my favorite film of the entire franchise and a huge improvement over the first two films in terms of the entertainment quality and the writing. It really felt like a perfect conclusion of the trilogy and a great climax for our toy protagonists. Although the fourth film was a good epilogue for Woody’s story arc, this one was the grand finale of their journey after having spent years with Andy and with other toys.

I would be lying if I said that this film didn’t move me at all. Seriously, I was driven to tears toward the end after Andy gave the rest of the toys to Bonnie. Seeing him all grown up was really nice to see especially when you consider the time gap between this movie and the previous one. Eleven years later and BOOM! We finally have the third one. Can you image the reactions of the people who haven’t seen this series in years especially during the 11 year gap? So it actually felt like we haven’t seen these guys for a very long time; thus, it would make sense that Andy would literally grow up during those years and more.

The story was not only interesting but also engaging and beautifully written. Sure, it wasn’t that groundbreaking or awesome, but it was still better than what the first two films offered. We see more new characters and are introduced to new challenges before us. The animation was great, the score was great, and the voice acting was top-notch.

To see Barbie with Ken was... well, cliche but okay. At least they made him an interesting secondary villain rather than write him as a cardboard typical Disney Prince. I’m glad the writers gave him a personality and a complex character development. A job well done, Batman—I mean, Michael Keaton.

This gentleman was... by the gods, he is by far one of the BEST villains of Pixar!! He is one of the darkest and brutal villains to ever exist because everything he had done was pure Lord Shen-levels of evil.... okay, I wouldn’t go that far, but you see where I’m going. Basically, he tortured many toys, had them beaten senselessly by unruly children, enslaved them, deceived and lied to his victims, duped them into a false sense of security, wrongly imprisoned them, and was more than willing to kill Woody and his friends after betraying them.

Heck, he even turned Buzz into his original mindset which made him turn against his friends! Pixar, you guys sure know how to make quite a compelling villain!

Lastly, his backstory was very sad but, at the same time, he was completely mislead by his own emotions. He misunderstood the turn of events that happened that day when Daisy and her mother accidentally left him and his two other former companions behind. Dude, she was literally tired after spent most of the day with you! Her mother was the one who somehow forgot she brought toys with her. When she bought a new huggin bear, you felt betrayed. I get that, but you really didn’t have to snap like that.

After that, you immediately hated her and wanted to forget everything about her and vented all that rage, hatred, and anger to innocent toys who did nothing to you??? Lotso, bro, I really want to give you a hug. I’m sorry, I really felt like I wanted to give him a big hug.

You guys probably hate him for what he did, but I honestly would have given him a chance at redemption. What do you guys think? I could spend all day talking about him and his possible redemption arc.

Man, that was a lot to say! Anyway, this movie was yet another example of how friendship actually works in reality and how much impact we can have on those we love. Once again, The Last Crusade proves how much of a disgusting failure that episode was.

I am giving this a 10/10 I love this movie!

Peace!

Good finale... by epic adventure standards.

Movie 4 toys (pun intended) with our emotions in an... emotional way.

I'd have put him on my dissection table. Someone as evil as him doesn't deserve redemption, they deserve execution. And that's only one of my personalities talking

Okay, I've got one for you. did you that Lotso was originally supposed to be in the first Toy Story?

Gentlemen, I regret to inform you all of the passing of Ned Beatty, the voice actor of Lotso. He died earlier today at the age of 83. This year is taking so many legends away from us, I swear.

*sigh* May he rest in peace. Expect a review of another movie tomorrow in which he played a role in.

(Twirl hat around and place it over my heart) Vaya con dios.

Out of curiosity…did you know that, for this movie, Blake Clark played Slinky instead of Jim Varney?

I was just wondering.

I thought Clark did an amazing job filling in for the late Varney, and the best part was that it was like Varney was actually part of the film!
