Hello there! Mr. J here! Here is my review of Night of the Museum! This is one of my dearest childhood films from this wonderful trilogy back in the 2000s that contains plenty of family fun and entertainment. I really admire Ben Stiller’s work in these films, and this one gave a very good start to an adventurous series. His own character, Larry Daley, was very interesting, relatable, and awesome as he first discovers the exhibits at the museum coming to life every night. Ben Stiller gave a wonderful and hilarious performance as Larry alongside many other characters.

Ah, and we cannot forget Robin Williams’ performance as Teddy Roosevelt. Gosh, every time he spoke a line of dialogue and did something, it was accompanied with his sense of humor and comedic style that can give me a hearty laugh every time. He even kept that consistent throughout the series. The skeleton T-Rex was so awesome to look at especially since it’s CGI. He looked so real whenever he moved on screen, and he is the very first exhibit character Larry met. I actually wish he had more screen time in the sequels since he was the very first living character Larry encountered and befriended as well as having a more close relationship with him. Still, I enjoyed watching Rex.

As for the antagonists, Cecil and his comrades were actually entertaining and full of charisma. I cannot forget Gus for his ferocious fighting style and brutal personality. (Sigh), may that wonderful gentleman (Mickey Rooney) rest in peace. Reginald was cool too.

The CGI was amazing, the special effects were great, and the acting was spectacular. Jedidiah and Octavius are amongst my favorite characters in this film; the same goes for Attila the Hun, Ahkmenrah, Sacajawea, and that stone head. Oh, and Dexter the monkey!! I love that little fella! The part where he and Larry were slapping each other was so hilarious! The Neanderthals were very funny also and stole every scene they were in. You can never get enough of them. The story was likewise well written and very concise. It’s easy to follow yet also very engaging. I deeply enjoy it. Therefore, it gets an 11/10.

Dexter slaps you all with love! 💗

I loved this movie. And Robin Williams does look the part for Roosevelt when wearing that suit and stache.

I loved that movie.

The first movie will always be the best of the trilogy. The sequels are awesome too, but both are flawed in a particular area. At least, in my opinion.

I’m curious to know what that particular area in the sequels would that be.

There were some parts in the sequels that kinda caused their stories to drag despite how amusing they were. A few examples being when Larry and company meet up with Ahkmenrah’s parents in the third film and during the interaction between Larry and Brandon in the second film.

Those are actually some of my favorite moments in the sequels, but I see where you’re coming from.
