    Life Update.

    So…. Yeah.

Long story short, quite a few things happened. SMoTE is still not getting regular updates, at most I can try to squeeze a chapter out a month. This isn’t because I’m too busy with my new job or anything, because I apparently don’t have one.

So yeah, if you read my last blog post then you know I was planning to delay SMoTE updates because of some amazing job opportunities.

Chapter ?….

“My, my, my. I get trapped inside a volcano for… just over 2,000 years and you’re already trying to replace me, Radiance?” The Changeling Queen asked.

“I AM QUEEN CHRYSALIS! Queen of the Changelings, and ex-Princess of Love.”

“You and I are similar, Bizarro. Given a body that wasn’t yours, turned into something against your will.”

“I used to go by another name, Katydid. I was nothing more than a few cells like you, but while you were flesh and blood I was grass and haemolymph.

“The Wizards who made me wanted a hero, somepony they could look up to in case their beloved benevolent gods weren’t so benevolent after all. The love and admiration they fed me gave me more power than I knew what to do with. I craved it, I needed it. Don’t you feel it to? The approval, the love, the devotion they all feel towards you? Before you know it, it’ll be all gone.

“I learned that ‘love’ is just a fancy word for loyalty and devotion.

“Join me, Bizarro. Let use rule this world like Gods!”

“Bizarro, stay down.” Twilight told me as she tried to push me back down.

“Down am opposite of help. Bizarro am help, Bizarro need help.” I said as I struggled to push myself up only to be surrounded in a green glow and hurled into the sky.

“Give up! I am your superior! I am perfection!” She said as she kicked me in the stomach. “I can do things most ponies can’t do. I can fly, I can use magic, I can absorb energy, I even have the strength to break mountains. What can you do?”

“B-Bizarro c-can fight…” I said as I grabbed her leg.

“Fool. Even with that strange sword you were barely a match for me. Now here you are, at my feet like the peasant you are.”

“Am… Am we win?”

“Yeah… Yeah, we did…”

“Good. Bizarro go night-night then.”

I looked at the rubble and debris that littered the streets of Canterlot with a sense of self-deprivation and sadness, a pit of despair growing in my stomach the more I looked at the destruction.

“Wise man on Bizarro planet once say, ‘what am point of having two hearts if you can no be forgiving’?” I quoted.

“An interesting phrase. Who said that originally.”

“Doctor.”

“Doctor who?” she asked. My only reply was a firm nod of my head before I turned and walked away.

“Bizarro? Who was the doctor? Bizarro?”

Chapters ?… Crystal Empire Arc

“I was nothing before I knew my destiny, to rule this kingdom and all of the world with my power. I was a weakling; a gentle breeze could bruise my body. But I changed, I learned what power really meant. Morrow and katydid tried to dissuade me, but

“I changed for the better! I became

the King of Order before my ‘friends’ convinced me to give up my title and become the ‘Prince of Progress’. An idiotic choice on my part. Look at how much everything has changed, how much worse everything is because of it.

"Behold, my power!" Sombra gloated as he pulled out a blue crystal shaped like a heart from underneath his cloak.

My heart sank as I looked at the Crystal Heart before I fell to my knees and started to vomit blood. That wasn't just a Crystal, that was pure Blue Kryptonite, it was one of the few things that could kill me if I was exposed to it long enough.

Tears wheeled in my eyes as I felt more bile and blood build up in the back of my throat. My skin was burning with immense pain and my muscles tensed up to strangle my now brittle bones.

I was powerless, defenseless, I was nothing. There WAS nothing I could even do. I prayed for a miracle to save me, for another Displaced's token to fall out of the sky and help me. But nothing except pain came to me. I couldn't escape, I couldn't fight pack, I was completely powerless.

"Wasn't your life better before all this?" He asked.

"I can see if you know, your soul. You're different, you're not a pony. And even so, I may be willing to help you, I could make your life better make it the way it used to be! Join me, creature, and become my executioner." He offered as he held out his hand for me to grasp.

"You... you am had Bizarro at whatever me want." I told him as I slowly reached up to his hand.

"But am lose me at last part." I said definitely as I grabbed his hand and attempted to use my remaining strength to pull him down to my level.

Sombra gave me a bemused look at my fruitless efforts as he removed his hand from my grip before he kicked me in the stomach.

"Magicless heathens, they're all the same."

Blood pooled underneath my head as my eyes slowly drifted shut, the sound around me fading out of existence as my consciousness began to leave my body.

"Hello, Bizarro. I am the first Displaced of the Pony multiverse, the explorer who inspired others. I am Megan Williams."

"Well, there are a few versions of me out there, either born in their worlds or Displaced into them.

"Tell me, what does Displaced mean?" She asked

"Dimension misplace. Why?"

"That's an interesting combination isn't it? The dimension part makes sense, but isn't it odd you are called misplaced?" She rhetorically asked before a knowing smile spread across her face as she looked at me. "You were placed here purposefully by your Merchant and yet you and all the other Displaced are labeled as ‘misplaced’. Sure, some are accidentally placed in places the Displacer didn't mean to send them, but a majority of them are put in Dimensions for a purpose. The reason you are labeled as Misplaced is because you have yet to find yourself." She told me as she placed a finger on my Bizarro symbol.

"Some have an easier time finding themselves, while others struggle to do it. Going across the different realities and dimensions you lose sight of who you are and who you should or could be. So, who are you, and what are you?" She asked before she walked away with her arms behind her back.

"I was nothing special, I lived on a farm with my siblings before I found myself in a strange new world. And when I got there I found myself, I found my friends, and I found the strength to help when others couldn't or wouldn't. I found myself and I never even realized it, I wasn't just Megan anymore. I was the wilder of the rainbow light,

"The Merchant turned you into a misunderstood monster, and you made yourself a hero. You didn't become one because you can fly or breath fire, you became one because of who you are.

“Heroism isn’t defined by strength, gender, age, or anything like that, all of that is irrelevant. What makes you a hero is the choices you make and why you make them. You chose to be a hero and you made that decision because it was right.

"Just some food for thought. Eat it or don't, the choice is yours."

"But... But he am stronger than me!"

"So? Lotsa people an ponies are stronger than ya, and they're all down there." She said as she pointed to the crowd of injured Crystal ponies helping each other.

"They're hurt, scared, bruised, and beaten. Be a hero Bizarro, help them."

"How!? Me no can fight Sombra alone!" I protested.

"Bein' a hero ain't always about using a fist. Sometimes a hero just needs ta lend a helping hand."

A room filled with low nervous chatter and grim faces that adjourned the bodies of beaten soldiers who, after so many years of being subjugated to a tyrannical ruler, finally had hope. Many of them embraced this newfound hope for a happier tomorrow, for an end to their suffering in the Phantom Zone, while a minority of soldiers held silent skepticism and doubt that such a future would come to pass.

A thin barrier of pure Love was the only thing that separated us from Sombra, a barrier that would only grow weaker with each passing second.

A low murmur rippled through the few remaining guards that stood by.

"Go! Me help city-zens!" I shouted back to them before I jumped through the hole.

My muscles burned as I used my demolishing strength to lift the the giant crystal slab.

"Help him!" I shouted as I laid the stallion on one o the makeshift beds and rushed back outside.

[u[TWILIGHT POV

He came in carrying a stallion on his back and dragged another in by their hands

“I have a plan to help your friends.”

Perhaps I can help…

“Who are you?” I asked the dark figure. He gave me a slight bow as he held out his hand to me.

I am Darth Vader.

I stared at the images passing by me. There were thousands of creatures that looked like me, sounded like me, and even did things that I did. There was a version of me and my friends with muzzles, hooves, and animal ears talking to a green figure with a glass dome for a head. A version of me that was naked and quadrupedal secretly listening to a massive warrior that had a red helmet and held a long spear talking to a naked baby version of Spike on a bridge at night. Then there was another where I talked to a tall red maned stallion who had an odd white mask that covered his eyes. Another version of me had a bionic arm and was holding hands with a strange pink haired mare that looked lovingly into my eyes as we sat in a restaurant. The strangest of all was the one where I was in a court case against a colt that wore a strange mask that made his eyes look like blue flames. Wait, NO SCRATCH THAT! IS THAT ME MARRYING DISCORD?!

There were so many versions of me that ranged from the quadrupedal version of myself to a a more regular version of myself that lacked my lavender skin tone and horn. Some had skin, some had fur, and a decent number of them were actually Alicorns like Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.

“W-What is this?” I asked in a whispered voice. The strange armored figure appeared again, slowly fading into existence as the scenes around us continued to play.

The things I have witnessed as an observer.” He said as his eyes traveled across the rows of moving images. “In that reality, you are dating a young Displaced named Nat, in that one you are arguing a court case for Sharp Opera, former king of the Siren nation. There, you are listening to the mighty Gilgamesh give advice to Spike about what it means to be strong, that even though he is physically weak, sticking up for his beliefs made him stronger in morals and made him brave. That version of Twilight is having a lovely conversation with Oscar and Adam, two beings who fight tooth and nail to protect Equestria from dangerous monsters that kill without remorse.

There you are talking to the Anti-Magic Knight, Asta, about plans to free a group of enslaved ponies from the caribou. Over there, you’re speaking with your friend Undyne who is elated to see her brother again after weeks of being apart. That one above us is the day you met Dark Spider and he told you of his human origins and his missing sister. All of these are different versions of yourself across the multiverse, from big to small, young to old, and good to evil.” He explained as his hand guided my eyes across the many Dimensions.

“Why are you showing me this?” I asked the stranger as he stared at a barren world of red sand that was devoid of life. Two moons hung in the air as they slowly collapsed, their broken segments forming a meteor belt around the two moons.

To show you that you have potential, Twilight. These versions of yourself have faced gods, battled demons, and protected their friends from cosmic horrors time and time again. And when they’re done, they get to go home and relax with their friends and family. Your friends are here, right now, fighting a losing battle against a dark force that plans to kill them. You must join the battle and save your friends, Twilight.

“I know that, but how?! How can I beat him?” I asked in distress. King Sombra had the Crystal Heart, and he just moped the floor with Bizarro like he was a foal. There wasn’t anything I could do against him.

Alone, you cannot. But united, anything is possible. I offer my help to save your friends, but only if you remember this one lesson. It is a lesson that I forgot long ago, and my failure to remember it blinded me. You MUST remember it.” He warned me.

“I’ll listen! Just tell me so we can save them!” I pleaded.

… You shouldn’t fight what you hate, you should save what you love…” He told me as he held out his hand towards me.

…
“SOOOOMMMBRAAAA!

My eyes widened in surprise as I stared at the new form of Twilight, one that I only saw in the movies back on Earth.

Her horn had grown twice it’s normal length and was enveloped in a blue glow that matched the fires that burned around her eyes. Her mane had burst into a plume of black, pink, and purple flames that danced on top of her head like a burning torch. And on her back sat two large purple wings that kept her in the air as she glared at the shadowy form of Sombra.

She snarled at Sombra, baring her fanged teeth as she did so. I couldn’t believe my eyes, Twilight had turned into her villain counterpart, Midnight Sparkle.

I won’t let you hurt my friends, or the citizens of the Crystal Empire anymore!” Twilight yelled with her new Royal Canterlot voice.

“Bizarro, I’m…. I’m so sorry for what I did to you. In my arrogance, I tried to selfishly take your life and friends to replace the ones I lost.

I’ve had a long time to reflect on my decisions. I’ve watched the other worlds while I was imprisoned, watching all of the good and the bad things my other selves had done.

SOMBRA POV

A familiar magical sound echoed in the dark caverns as a green glow began to illuminate the tunnels. My eyes traveled the now slightly lit tunnels with panic before rage filled my veins as realization struck me. If I had returned along with my empire, then an old enemy had returned as well, the one who was responsible for my initial defeat.

“Phantom.” I seethed out in anger. The bitch floated above me in the darkness as her steel cold emerald eyes glowed with power, only outshined by the alabaster flame that made up her ethereal mane. Her hair broke the silence of the caves as ir filled the air with a faint crackling sound, accompanied by the low hum of her magical energy.

“Sombra.” She replied with her voice devoid of any emotion. Her black and white gloved hands glowed with a translucent green energy as she slowly emerged from the shadows, her honey colored skin of her face breaking through the blanket of blackness first before her hideous black, white, and green ensemble followed after her. As I studied her body for the first time in two thousand years, my eyes momentarily stopped on the strange green symbol on her black shirt. It was so familiar, yet different, a symbol that looked like a letter that was displayed proudly on her chest like a badge of honor.

“That… That symbol… YOU’RE A FILTHY CREATURE LIKE THAT BIZARRO!” I screamed with rage, striking my adversary with a moment of curious hesitation as she muttered that bastard’s name under her breath. A few silent moments passed before she dismissed my remark by shaking her head.

“A question for later when I go see Celestia and Luna, after I send you back to where you belong.” She stated before she pulled out her infernal metal cylinder.

“NO! You will not trap me in that accursed Phantom Zone! You locked me and the Crystal Empire away for centuries, and I refuse to be placed back there!” I shouted in defiance as I charged what little magic I had left into my horn. Before I could get a spell off however, I was enveloped by a magical beam of green energy that pulled me into the Phantom’s personal prison. No matter how much I struggled or resisted, I was pulled back into the green void that had been my prison for so long, my only chance of escape being sealed off as that damned Mare closed the lid of her device. I screamed with unbridled fury as I promised revenge against her and those who fought against me. I would escape, and I would slay that Mare, I would mount Dani Phantom’s head on my wall.

Ending Arc (Unknown Amount of Chapters)

DANI PHANTOM POV

Hi there, my name is... Well that's a bit complicated. My birth name is Lilly Goodman, buy most ponies know me as Dani Phantom.

It all started thousands of years ago at Wizard World Comic Con, back when I was still Lilly Goodman, an eleven-year-old girl living in Pennsylvania. It had been a year since my brother, Michael Goodman, disappeared. And when I say disappeared I mean just gone. No, he didn't run away and abandon us! He was going to come home; the police even found a bunch of Equestria Girls toys he bought for me in the trunk of his car. He was going to come home!... he was... I know he was, no matter what dad said, Michael was going to come home.

After Michael disappeared things got pretty bad. Mom and dad would argue more and more about things like funeral expenses, his one year of college debt, and what to do with his room. I refused to believe he was dead. He was out there dammit. He was out there...

Anyway, like I said it had been a year since he was gone. During that time, I nose-dived deeper into the actual My Little Pony franchise after I ran out of Equestria Girls episodes to rewatch. After binging on MLP like a sugar addict in a candy store, I moved onto cartoons Michael liked when he was a kid. It was the typical old 2000’s cartoons like Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends, Ed, Edd, & Eddy, Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, and my personal favorite Danny Phantom. I envied Danny for having the ability to just disappear and come back whenever he wanted to, especially when he could use those powers to fly and go through walls, and I really liked his relationship with his sister Jazmine and his clone/little sister Dani.

So, deciding to go to Wizard World Comic Con with some friends, I went dressed up as Dani Phantom. I wore two boots I spray painted white, black pants, a black right-handed glove and a white left-handed glove, and a custom half black and half white Navel Top long sleeve shirt with Danny Phantom’s signature Ghost D (Phrasing) ironed on the center of my chest. I was also wearing a white wig to cover my black hair and put in some emerald green eye contacts to hide my natural eye color.

My mom didn’t approve of me going out with an exposed stomach, so I was also wearing a black thermal underwear shirt underneath my costume to cover up my stomach. While my costume was nearly 100% custom, my friends Rob and Jenny just bought their costumes online. My cousin Rob was dressed up as Link from Zelda, while his girlfriend, and my best friend, went as Blossom from The Power Puff Girls. Even though they were seven years older than me, they were both my best friends. They helped me out a lot while I was trying to get over Michael's absence. They were always there for me through thick and thin, keeping me from doing something… stupid, on more than one occasion.

My mom thought it would help me if I went to the convention, saying it would help give me closer. Personally I thought that was stupid but hey I wasn’t going to argue with her. The last time I did that I ended up being forced to watch one of those crappy PSA videos from the 80s about manners. Celestia damn were those boring as hell.

So, long story short I went to the convention with Rob and Jenny on the last day of the convention. It was nice that they let me walk around on my own, it made me feel more grown up and responsible whenever they put their trust in me. Like when they trusted me to walk home by myself, or whenever they’d ask if I could help them with something difficult. They never treated me like I was just some kid. And I let them down too…

I was walking around the convention looking for… I don’t know what. Part of me was hoping to miraculously see Michael there. It was a dumb hope, but it was my dumb hope.

As much as I didn’t want to, I had to stop myself from chasing ghosts that weren’t there. So, I distracted myself by checking out what some of the vendors were selling. Most of the vendors had already left before the last day of Comic Con, and the ones that were left ranged from alright to subpar. But, one stand caught my immediate interest. It was a large stand with three thick black curtains hanging about twenty feet in the air and were supported by a metal frame that was hidden underneath the curtains. On the black curtains were rows and rows of props, costume pieces, and accessories.

Oddly enough, there wasn’t a single costume that was complete in the stall, and all of the props were from games, movies, comics, anime, or other mediums. It was pretty much a hodgepodge of random stuff that was set up without any rhyme or reason. Though, that wasn’t as weird the guy at the stand.

Standing behind a glass retail counter filled with even more random and obscure props was a fairly tall man wearing a leather trench coat and hoodie, along with a purple scarf that covered his face. For some reason my legs began to move towards the mysterious man on their own.

“Hello stranger. What're you buyin?" He asked. I felt a chill run down my spine as he spoke to me. My brain was screaming “STRANGER DANGER” but I couldn’t move.

“Hmmm. Nice costume, Dani Phantom, right?” He asked as he stroked his chin. I could only nod in response.

Suddenly he clapped his hands together. “Great! I haven’t seen a costume like yours in some time. There were a few Danny Phantoms here and there but all of their stories were so boring that they weren’t even worth retelling.” He told me as he reached inside the glass counter.

“But you, you’re different than them. You’re new, interesting, and best of all you have a good eye.” He said as he pushed the Fenton Thermos across the table.

“So, whatdaya say? Wanna buy a prop?” He asked me.

My body was screaming at me to say yes, while my mind was telling me to run and not look back. “Oh, I uh, don’t need it actually. My friends are waiting for me so—“ I was cut off when he placed another item on the table, a metal boomerang.

“Oh, you seem like someone who needs the pot sweetened. I can tell that you’re not just looking for items. No, you’re looking for something else entirely. This little number may help you a bit.” He said as he slowly pushed it next to the Fenton Thermos.

“H-h-how much?” I asked, although I’m still not completely sure why. Why didn’t I walk away, why was I still standing there?… Why did I need those props he put on the table?

“Well I’m feeling generous today since it’s the last day of the convention. I haven’t hit my quota sales like I originally wanted to, but with your help I could at least get something out of this. So how about $10? $5 for the thermos and $5 for the Booo-Merang?” He asked.

I felt like I regained control of my body after he made his offer. I should have run away, called out for Rob or Jenny, but I didn’t. His offer was just so… Tantalizing. I HAD to have those props. So without thinking about it, I dug out $10 and gave it to the weirdo before scooping up the props in my arms and bolting out of there. I made it four steps before I was hit with a terrible case of vertigo and I suddenly fell into a deep and dark sleep.

I’m not sure how long my body and mind were trapped inside the dark abyss before this explosion of color threw me out of it. A giant fucking rainbow just suddenly appeared out of nowhere and hit me like a truck, sending me flying across the then visible sky. I went sailing through the air and eventually crashed through the roof of some type of building. I expected the crash to kill me, but for some reason I only felt slightly dazed and weakened.

“Is Bizarro with you?” Celestia asked them.

“Yes, he just needed to go do something really quickly. May I ask why you’ve called us all back to Canterlot?”

….
Bizarro and Phantom stared at each other for a few tense moments, both of them freezing up as they studded each other’s features. It was as if time itself froze so that the two could take in every detail of the other’s appearance.

“So… You’re Bizarro?” Our teacher asked Bizarro.

“Yes. Who am you?”

“What are you doing in Equestria?” Our teacher asked him, ignoring his question outright. Bizarro seemed to tense up slightly at her question.

“Me live here. Who am you?” Bizarro stated as he looked at the symbol on our teacher’s chest, an innocent act that seemed to infuriate our teacher.

“Hey! Eye’s up here buster. I want to know why you’re here.” Phantom snapped at Bizarro. An uneasy tension filled the room as they stared into each other’s eyes with an intense look of hostility.

“Me already told you, Bizarro live here.” Bizarro said firmly as his posture straightened.

“I don’t know, okay! All I remember is his name, it’s… It’s familiar, and not in a good way.”

“There are some things from home I don’t remember too well.

“Lilly?” Phantom repeated as her eyes widened.

“I… I haven’t heard that name in so long… What else did you see in the dream?” Phantom demanded

“Ghost Zone. Ghost, not Phantom Zone.”

“But why? Your name is Phantom, hence it should be called the Phantom Zone. Not to mention you need to use the Phantom Thermise spell to send beings there.”

“It’s called a Fenton Thermos, Luna.”

“But… But Lilly love paint.”

“Well, yeah, probably when I was a kid.”

“Lilly! What am you doing?!”

“What? It’s just a little beer, it won’t… kill me. Ha!”

“Are you fucking kidding me?! That’s Cozy Glow! She’s a tiny ball of evil stuffed inside of a hateful monster!” Lilly argued.

“I can save a lot of ponies from getting hurt by ending her here.”

“There wasn’t a redemption for Cozy Glow in the show, Michale! They tried, they failed, and she was turned to stone.

“Well I’m not a kid Michale! I didn’t get a childhood! Do you think it was all sunshine and fucking rainbows when I got here? It was a nightmare, there was the plague, famine, corpses littered the street and towered over me! I slept in a goddamn prison cell because it was warmer than anyone’s wooden fucking shack!

“I worked my goddamn ass off to make this place a little less shit, and here you are lounging around after I did all the work! Do you know how fucking hard it is to end slavery?! The difficulties of convincing entire kingdoms and nations to give up their power to a pair of teenage Alicorns?! Do you think I waved a fucking magic wand and all of the problems magically disappeared? NO! I had to make hard choices, decide who lives and dies, and sometimes kill ponies with my bare fucking hands! But you wouldn’t understand that, would you? No, you get to take the easy path while I had to suffer! It’s all your fault I’m here anyway!” She screamed at me. “I hate you… I HATE YOU!”

..
“If you didn’t go to that goddamn nerd convention, I wouldn’t have gone either! I would’ve been at home, going to school, living a normal fucking life. I wouldn’t have to kill anything before I was old enough to drive, I wouldn’t have been sleeping near dead bodies,

“I hate it here. I hate being alone.”

“Holy crap…. This is an intervention, isn’t it?!” Lilly screamed out in rage.

“… I forgot you, you know.” Lilly admitted. “After I got here, I thought about everyone back home a lot. How I missed everyone, how much I wanted to see everyone. And then after weeks and months of being in Equestria, I forgot about all of you. You were all passing thoughts that I would only remember from time to time. And then I just completely forgot about you. I didn’t even remember your name…”

“… Hey bro, what were our parents like?” Lilly asked me.

I lost my family, Bizarro. I never got to say goodbye. You, however, can. You can let go instead of losing her.

I made it four steps before I was hit with a terrible case of vertigo and I suddenly fell into a deep and dark sleep.

When I woke up I was lying down on an ambulance gurney outside the convention center with Rob and Jenny right by my side.

And that’s everything. Looking back on it, I feel a little nostalgic reading these lines. Thanks again for 200 Followers!

Congrats on 200 followers:twilightsmile:

When you first created this story I was intrigued. As it continued I became curious; reading any new chapter whenever possible. When you added Darth Vader from the displace war I was confused. When it was canceled I was saddened. Now as I read these snippets of possible chapters, snippets of possible ways that the story might go to, snippets on the ending of this entire story; it was a rollercoaster of emotions as I read these spoilers whilst reminiscing on older chapters but, it was truly worth a read and now I wonder on the full picture of the story had you not chosen to put it in adoption.

Thank you for your work. Thank you for writing this story. Thank you just because.

Thank you, that really means a lot to me. I can't actually put into words how much it means to me to see people read my stories and comment on them. Heck, just knowing that one person genuinely enjoyed themselves is something that always makes me feel happy. I felt terrible when I finally placed Bizarro up for adoption. I had felt terrible even before I decided to give it away. I hated that I had, in a sense, killed Bizarro. If I were to actually change it from incomplete to cancelled, then I would have canonically killed him. I would have destroyed everything. I'm happy to know that there are people who liked reading it, and even some who still read it.

I'm not good at words, at least the genuine kind. I could write a filibuster that stretched out from Kansas to Kentucky, but I'm not good at articulating my own thoughts outside of my confident persona. So, I can only say thank you, and tell you that your comment means a lot to me. Thank you.
