So - my first story is in the proverbial bag, and I'm now working on the sequel... or, to be more precise, the second arc.
See, this story (which started out as a roleplay) went on for the better part of a few years; in that time, my partner-in-crime Wungiel and I wrote enough material for numerous books. I decided to mash them into three stories, which should work out well enough... except that the second arc miiiiiiiight be a bit, er... long.
It's intimidating, the amount of work I have ahead of me - but I try to just take a chapter at a time. The entire second story is technically already complete; I've transcribed it on FimFic... I just have to edit it from its' copy/paste format from Discord, then edit for spelling and grammatical errors, and try to smooth out the wrinkles by rewriting a few lines and thoughts, to flow better in a story format.
It's something I do after work. Which, given that my job is high-physical and long-houred, some days I don't get more than a few paragraphs done. But I try to do a little bit each day, at least - that way, I'm always making progress. Not to mention that it helps me wind down from the rigors of work, and eases my mind so I can possibly get some sleep; the ultimate goal of my insomnia-riddled self.
Still, it helps me to appreciate the work that Wungi and I put into it, and it just makes me excited to see how you faithful readers digest each chapter. Honestly, your comments are my salary, my lifeblood, and my reward for all my hard work; I cherish them like children. I'm just so blown away by my first story having 70 likes at this point - it may not seem like much in comparison to other stories here, but those 70 likes absolutely make my day, and give me reasons to go on with the tale when I feel dejected and listless.
Now that I'm working on the next arc, I can hardly wait to see what folks think of it - and I sincerely hope I do not disappoint. I put a LOT of work into making this particular arc, and I hope folks will appreciate the little things in it as well as the big. Wungi seemed to like it, after all, and I regard him with the utmost respect and admiration.
Okay, back to work for me... but keep yourselves ready for each chapter as it flows from me, and I hope it is as entertaining for you all to read as it was for me to create... though, for the record, the main character herself is Wungi's girl; I just built a world around her.
I hope it's a world y'all enjoy. }:)
