Once in a Blue Moon Status & Other Stuff · 5:09am Feb 16th, 2012
When I first started this story on Fanfiction.net some months ago, I fully intended that the update schedule should not live up to the story's name. Sadly, with life being what it is, that's precisely what happened.
I'm taking the opportunity while uploading this to FIMFic to do some much-needed edits. Chapters 9 and 10, in particular, got melded into some kind of word salad mash that need to be separated out and refined before they'll be fit for public reconsumption.
Will I continue to post this on FF.net? Probably. Will it continue to update here? Definitely. In fact, this is probably going to become my preferred platform for pony-based stuff, if for no other reason than it remains separated from my other works, and there seem to be a lower proportion of douchebags.
I aim to be a published author someday. I'll be honest: fanfiction, ponyfics in particular, is practice for me. It's helping me sharpen my writing skills while I get the plot stuff together for the things that I will publish under my real name. This is not to say that I don't enjoy it, because I do. Doctor Who and MLP are two of my favorite shows at the moment, and there's just something about putting the both of them in a mixer, eggbeating the everloving Slitheen snot out of them, shoving the resulting mishmash in the oven and seeing what comes out that is appealing, like one of Pinkie's habanero-and-cheese cupcakes.
What? I like spicy food!
In any case, Chapters 9 and 10, "Through a Mirror Darkly" part 1 and 2, are currently in revision status. Once that's done, I'll be posting them and everything up to Chapter 12, which is what I just finished tonight. If you want a sneak peek, have a gander at it on FanFiction.Net: FFN: Once In A Blue Moon
Also, be on the lookout for some new things, specifically "Thank You For Calling," featuring the OC pony featured in my avatar picture, Trouble-Shooter. It's the charming and comedic story of a unicorn technician working the phones at the Equestrian Technical Services help desk, and the crazy ponies he has to deal with. Yes, he is something of a self-insert, but it's all in good fun. As Rainbow Dash says, Deal With It.
Cheers,
-D
Glad to see the story here too now, easier to track and all here

I agree. That's one reason I started using this site, because it's far easier to do corrective changes/uploads, and it's also far better organized.
Once I realized what I would have to do to properly update and revise the story on FFN, I was rather much like this:
