Li'l Cheese is awesome! · 1:10pm Sep 17th, 2020
It feels great that at the very least, there is representation of a feminine boy in the final episode, The Last Problem. A lot of people always assume that a character with eyelashes is automatically a female. When it comes to the child of Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich, it came as a surprise to everyone that the writers confirmed Li'l Cheese as a male. While I find this a good step forward to inclusivity, I sincerely hope that there would be shows and movies in the future that depict feminine male characters in a positive light not only to eliminate toxic masculinity, but also to let the viewers know that boys and men can express themselves in unconventional ways that make them happy and feel confident regardless of what others would say about them.
Normally, I find anything that Jim Miller and the crew behind the show to be of value to me. However, in the case of Li’l Cheese, this was an exception.
I don’t recall there being such a thing as a boy born with girl qualities and traits, and the whole thing felt more like a miscommunication between the animators and their bosses more than anything else.
That’s why I think the character’s a girl more than a boy, especially by the look of it.
