How I conquered my fear of butterflies · 11:29am Aug 26th, 2020
When I was a kid, I went to Ocean Park, Hong Kong and there included a garden full of butterflies. I was so scared that there were so many of them because I read a book that said the dust from their wings can cause blindness.
Fast forward to 2019, I went to a butterfly sanctuary in Baguio to see them once more. A purple butterfly landed on my shoulder three times. Twice on my right and once on my left. I'm no longer afraid and I began to appreciate the beauty of their wings. It was a great "Hello, Absolem" moment.

That superstition of butterflies causing blindness is the same thing as dragonflies in Norway. Superstition said that they would sew your eyes shut if you fell asleep in the grass. Of course it was just a bunch of BS.
