    *eye roll*

me checking the dislike ratio on my new story

Glad to know bigotry is still alive and well in this fandom.

It's glad to see some of us didn't watch the same series as I did.

    So where I've been

Okay, uh... how do I begin this? Well, I suppose I should start with the obvious. Yes, I've been distracted. If you follow me on Archive that should be obvious. And if you don't, you totally should btw. Yes, I'm shameless.

Ranger Re-Writes! · 3:46pm Aug 21st, 2020

Okay, been going on about these on Discord. But I put a fair amount of thought into these things, and really these are how I'd re-write Samurai, Megaforce and Super Mega... yeah, that. More after the break.

Lauren Shiba, and by extension their counterpart in Shinkenger?

In real life they'd be complete nonsense. The power of the family would go to Jayden and Takeru.

As Japanese families work, the power goes to the firstborn son. Here's what I would have done if I was writing either season, as the only way to make the set up work? Have Jayden and Takeru adopted.

Make it a moral about the family you choose.

...and for that matter in Samurai make Lauren the real leader at the end and give her Jayden's awesome moments. I'd just use the budget to give Jayden a new American Ranger form. Now obviously Jayden would still take down Deker, but Lauren would be the one to strike down Xandred. Jayden would just do it in some new color like Silver instead of red.

And funny thing, someone pointed out that if Jayden and Lauren's roles were swapped to begin with? It'd make a more interesting story. Of course Mentor would be harsh on her, she'd be a girl which as I explained doesn't lend itself well to Japanese culture. There'd be other ways to go from this, like the now swapped Reds having more impact if Lauren is the one now having to prove herself a worthy leader because she's a girl and not traditional. Yeah, I know it's a bit cliche but it works and of course, the new Jayden Ranger Form would come from Antonio. Who, as we know, can tap into the grid and create his own powers.

Clash would... really stay the same honestly, I'd just use the RPM Rangers as well instead of just Samurai with Scott tacked on. However, Engine Dai-Shogun's footage would get used somehow, with the Samurai Rangers lending some of their power.

Now, the big one. The one we all hate. Go Go Megafarce.

Puts on Goseiger theme Need to slay the dragon in the right way after all! Now, this one's going to actually be easier to do given I have so little to work with.

Noah, he'd stay the same. Not much I need to change there.

Troy, someone pointed out he'd possibly be on the Autistic Spectrum with his lack of reactions. I'd play with that, say yeah he's on the spectrum and has struggles relating to people. Plus, with his visions? He's constantly paranoid for the next battle, be it next week or the next year.

Emma, hmm keep her Environmentalist angle just tone it down a bit. Give her a moment where like Rico, she tries to see the good in a Warstar Bug. Only, unlike Rico, it backfires. Test her a little.

Jake? Make him seem all sure of himself, but that's just a mask for lingering insecurities.

Gia? Just go with what was already there and have her take charge. Be the team's shadow leader, for when Troy's not able to step up to the task. Maybe she'd help him open up to people.

Robo Knight... change nothing. Like, nothing at all.

Vrak: Maybe keep the Prince angle, but he was adopted after being cast out of the Mystic Mother's realm for dark magic. Also, on villains, the Mutants would be surviving Orgs.

Gosei: Actually explore his origins as Zordon's pupil and have him be insecure about living up to his legacy. Hell, he'd be the counterpart to AkaRed with the powers originally belonging to Zordon as his Ranger form.

Now, Super Megaforce. Firstly, I'd drop the name. Like, uuuuugghhhh.

Now, to explain the discrepancy in Sentai footage with Gosei Black and Gokai Green? I'd have Green be Ziggy, because really... Can you think of anyone else who'd fit that fighting style? Seriously, the switchover basically makes Jake seem to lose several levels in competence.

Also, Vekar. He knows his father always favored Vrak in this version, the adopted kid. So that gives him massive insecurity issues. He strives to prove himself, and becomes the counterpart to Basco complete with Sixth Ranger Key Clones.

Damaras would stay his loyal guard. Argus would be the general to all the mooks.

Also, more actual tribute episodes and with returning Ranger themes and each tribute would have returning Rangers. The new Powers would be dropped to give actual focus to the powers we know and love. Also, Vrak is Back would stay the same. I'd switch Orion out for someone else though, namely this girl from In Space now grown up and a complete Ranger nerd.

Okay, there we go. That basically ends my little rant for the day. Now though, I have one question, why'd it take me all of 30 minutes to comprise good seasons when Saban couldn't give a crap?

Thank you for listening, and I'd appreciate your thoughts and comments below.

You know what, that sounds like why I thought would have been cool for a WA spin off. My idea was for it to be about the Samurai ranger of that time period. New new red range would have been Diamond Tiara and her mother would have completely prevented her from receiving her training because Filthy was not only recovering from an injury but running his business. Once he has some time he wants to test Diamond and she completely fails and he finds out what his wife has done.

The story would be Diamond receiving a crash course on what she needs to do and what is expected of her. Part of her journey would have her not as the field commander of the team, the leader would have been Gallus the pink ranger. His arc would be him coming into his own leadership qualities, foreshadowing him becoming captain of the guard, and that it was his mother’s actions that led to Filthy’s injury. Emily would have been acting as their trainer and Comander Kruger when necessary. Silver stream is the blue ranger and Scootaloo is the new yellow ranger. Tempest Shadow would have killed the successor to the gold ranger so in atonement she takes up the mantle.

They would be dealing with a team up between the Nightlocks and Lotor. Only the green samurai from Ninja Storm would be not under their control so most of the story there would be a team of dark rangers.

That, honestly, sounds like it could be its own story instead of a WA spin-off. Obviously, change a few things here and there but it could work.

On a related note, I finally figured out how the epilogue of WA was supposed to end. Completely insane, but that was me in those days with no one to tell me 'no'. Basically, Robert and Sunset would adopt Littlepip, yes that one and the end would have her in her own Ranger team as Ranger Red. Calamity would be Ranger Black. Basically, Dino Force Brave but actual Power Rangers. Cannontyra would be reworked to be a Carnotaurus, Stegotoup to a Kentrosaurus and Raptoraxe would change species from a Velociraptor to a Utahraptor, etc... (Basically a homage to Dairanger's ending I suppose...)

But enough of that, what do you think of my actual thoughts on how to rework certain series?

They would work. It would make each series more interesting as a result. I just worry that Super Sentai will never take the leap and do a female red ranger as a main character. They have done a female leader before in Kakuranger come to mind but they have such potential for stories.

That's more of a Japan problem, as... feminism doesn't really exist. They got better about it in Kamen Rider 01 with Yua Yaiba but we're still a long ways away from a female red over there.

The problem with it in America it is seen as a kids show and they don’t think the kids will catch it or care about it.

very nicely done
