For those who are curious, I picture Grogar (voiced by Tim Curry) to be a satyr, which in the continuity of MLP: FiM is a completely extinct race of Equestrian that was wiped out after a paranoid pony accused the satyr race of plotting against the founding pony tribes and caused the Earth ponies, Pegasi, and unicorns to retaliate, leaving Grogar the last of his kind.
Wanting revenge, Grogar concocted a scheme none of the other antagonists dare thought of before: destroy Equestria and everything in it forever. Grogar also recruits Lightning Dust and the Washouts, Svengallop, Suri Polomare, Gladmane, the Diamond Dog Trio, Wind Rider, and even bring back the Dazzlings from Equestria Girls into his Armada of Disharmony.
Later in the finale, he double-crosses his army by announcing his intentions to erase Equestria off the face of existence out of spite, only for Spike, revealed to be the seventh element of harmony, to battle him in an ultimate showdown. Grogar even has three musical numbers that show how truly evil he is.
Grogar knows friendship and teamwork are powerful weapons, but he is also disillusioned by the fact friendship can manipulate others, as he explains in his second song "Friendship is a Lie." Grogar is also more concerned about Spike than Twilight or her friends and allies because old Equestrian legends tell that an overlord of nigh-omnipotent power will be defeated by a dragon of purple scales who represents Integrity, making him one of the view villains to see Spike as a legitimate threat.
What are your thoughts on this?
Interesting. Oddly enough, the ponies you mentioned that’d be teaming up with Grogar are actually ones that I couldn’t help but vision as well. The only exceptions being Lightning Dust and the Washouts, as well as the Dazzlings.
I can honestly see something similar to this taking place in a future fanfic
